Hello Christy,
Loved your percentages. Made me think of when I was learning reiki. It can get pretty spiritual and you can end up exploring the religions of Japan.
Ok, here’s the percentage of people in Japan who belong to each religion.
Shinto 70.5%
Buddhism 67.2%
Christianity 1.5%
Other religions 5.9%
(CIA World Factbook)
So that’s 155% of people in Japan who belong to a religion. Missionaries must have fun there…
Hi Christy,
You don’t got to pay no license no more.
Just saying like – one less bill.
Talk of turf minds me of The Clancys
What more diversion can a man desire
Than to sit him down by a warm turf fire
Upon his knee a pretty wench
Aye and on the table a jug of punch
Toor a lorra loo …
Our niece is bringing us to
The Undertones in the Rosin Dubh on Friday
Her mother brought her to Taylor earlier this year.
No pressure on Derry’s finest.

Hello Christy,
I watched the Galway recording from 2012, posted by Hilary. I had to look up the olé reference. Looks like the England football team make a habit of losing to Spain? I knew they’d lost again by all the “what’s the difference between Lassie and football?” jokes on Facebook testerday morning. That and the lack of colossal drunken roars from The Old Pond Pub next door on Sunday night.
Hey Pete, hope you enjoy the cds. There’s so many great ones waiting for you. They’re so good that I ended up converting to vinyl. It was when the limited edition of the Early Years album appeared in white vinyl. Resistance was futile! My vinyl collection continues to grow healthily, all started by that triple album.
Given a prevailing wind, we’ll be buzzing across to Anglesey tomorrow for the ferry to Dun Laoghaire on Thurdsay morning.

75% of Galway is 50% Spainish….the other 43 % are 100% pure Coneys which leaves the 19% who dont know who they are , what they’re up to, where they’re going or what time they’ll be back…hard to bate the Tribe but the Boys and Girls from the County Armagh will have a good go at it ..as for the Hurlin…dont get me started…Bridie Gallagher V The Sawdoctors…..I know where my money is going….I’m gonna see if Ruby can get me an extra point from Paddy Power…one thing for sure …whatever the result paddy power wont be out of pocket..bet sensibly, sez Power, as if he gave two shites

hould her back,
give her a smack
and Hup she’ll go”
Hi Christy, A quick note. I’m still on cloud nine from your TLT gig two Saturdays ago, and of your kindness and generosity as well. I was going to ask if you ever recorded Motherland and Magdalene Laundries so I could get my hands on a recording; lucky me I managed to find both of them on your Burning Times album/CD. Rest up and have a grand time with your audience Friday. I anxiously look forward to your new recording, and new concert dates so I may get to come again. Cheers!

I enjoyed making that album in Cork with Declan Sinnott…
Hi C. As the Galway Arts Festival starts it’s worth posting this clip from 2012 in the Tent by the Corrib, yourself and Declan were a great combo. Interesting also to hear Ole Ole just as the crowd sang it in the Iveagh Gardens last week. I recall Roisin and Colm were very young and were sorted with elevated seats by your team that night. https://youtu.be/GUYym86kZd8?si=H72lsLyIbUp2ObJv Beir bua agus beannacht. H

Christy .. have a quick listen to see if this song of mine might be of interest to you .. recorded on a recent visit to The South Pole (Tom Crean’s pub in Annascaul) .. I wrote it for the Shakleton Festival last year in Athy .. I didn’t have the lyrics with me when it was recorded, so some of the words are incorrect and some lines are mumbled .. but am sure you can get the gist of it anyway .. I can send you the lyrics if it’s of interest.
Hey Christy, hope all’s well with ya. Iveagh looked awesome from the bits I saw. Anyway I’m blessed to be traveling and visiting with you at the TLT on Friday and I was wondering if you might have Companeros if the mood is right, I’ll be the one wearing the CHE t-shirt 🙂 Thanks Christy.

Hoi Christy, at the time we had tickets for the royal circus in Brussel . In Antwerp it was de Roma. You were in de Elisabeth Hall too I think. This venue has been completely renovated and if you ever go back there you won’t recognize it. Come take a look! 😉

Hi Christy,
A win is a win. But at the end of the day it was a flukey goal made the difference. Thought some of Donegal’s points from play deserved it. But a lucky manager and a past manager looking down on proceedings got The Tribe over the line.
The Orchard County in a fortnight. Hope the game is as good
as the two semifinals. Hon Galway.

Hi christy
Something even more beautiful was to hear half of Croke Park singing ‘and i wish i was on that N17, stone walls and the grass is green’ at the final whistle .
What an anthem the Saw Doctors have created in N17….included in most of my passwords and known word for word from many an Irish holiday by my kids….some set of finals coming up.

Thanks to Lord Iveagh of the ancient Beerocracy…. Diageo took over Guinness but left philantropy behind at James’ gate…..I offered to do an ad for them “Guinness makes Your Shite Black” but they never returned my call…I heard that the CEO of Diageo was at the gig the other night ..maybe they’re checkin me out , or settin me up, I was a hoor for the large bottles up to 35 years ago.. there was no finer drink i.m.h.o…but I got too fond of it ..its a hoor when it gets in on you….you’d never suffer constipation after it but a sneeze could bring on horrid consequences..manys the shart (Contd P94)
We came over for the gig in Iveagh gardens and after spending a couple of rainy days in Dublin it was great that the sun came out. The rainy days were soon forgotten as you took to the stage and what a fantastic performance which will stay with us for a very long time. Thank you.

welcome aboard Tim and Crew..its manys the day since I gigged Portsmouth…thanks for feedback
Hi Christy
Felt the need to contact you after last night’s gig, which was brilliant! Been a long time since I’d seen you live. Songs were as sharp and impactful as ever. We’ve been singing along to your songs since we were teenagers in the 80s with some of our fondest memories having one of your songs as soundtrack.
Our daughter, Avril, was with us last night at the Iveagh Gardens gig (Father’s Day present!) and I was delighted to see how the next generation are enjoying your music as much as we have over the years. Same for a friend we met who was with his son and daughter. Seems they all knew the words better than us. Great to see your music still being embraced. You’re an inspiration!
Thanks for all the great songs,
Rob
