In our gig days it was a weekly column by Don Frame…a source to find venues. We celebrated when we almost needed a magnifying glass to read ‘Nightshift’ for the first time….made a few appearances on the list-a buzz every time …D
Hello Christy,
Just spending a little time in Settle as Steve pipes his way through his lesson with Becky Taylor. Bookshops, new and second hand, junk shops, antique shops, it’s a lovely town in the autumn sun. Settling into a cafetiere of Kenyan in the Old Naked Man cafe. It used to be a pub.
Irish tea. One of the shopping highlights of a trip across the water. Steve loves McEntees gold blend . A great big tin of Campbells was what we brought back with us last time.
Hi All, just trying my luck here, travelling with five from other side on the pond for Thursday night in Bundoran. A ticket short … if any knows of one. Thanks Frankie
Ed, Dagrab did give it top marks! All you 60s 4711ers cast your mind back to the greatest music TV show of all time, Juke Box Jury, where a panel voted on the new releases of the week, with the very top mark, a five! ‘Oill give it foive’ was what we all waited to hear, while the audience jury held up cards with HIT or MISS….
Twas great fun when hidden behind the screen was an artist who’s song had been just voted a miss came out to sing his song!
My memory says the Beatles were the panel once, the Stones as well. The Stones voted every song a MISS….We don’t give a fiddlers said Keith, we’ll just rubbish everything….

dont forget the “six five special” on BBC Tv every sat teatime in the late 1950’s
“The 6-5special’s comin down the line
the 6-5 specials right on time”…. (Don Lange)
Rory might be on to something…the new shop is linked to a well established Irish pub….I’ve never visited, but their sound system serenades anyone in a few hundred yards. A few weeks ago,I was nearby and smiled as you singing Lisdoonvarna came over loud and clear…
Next time I’m in the shop,if the box set is playing and the Barry’s is in a more prominent spot,we’ll know the thoughts of the Hawickmeister have filtered South.
Have a good day

Thanks. Sharon.
Hello Christy,
Lots of practising going on here. I’ve added the 4th finger into the fingerpicking. All very smooth, don’t know why I was worried. A lot of the rest of the book seems to be assuming I’ll want to be playing the guitar from music. There’s nothing further from the truth, watching guitarists, they seem to do their own thing, I think that’s a lot of the joy of it. Making music to a set of words with some scribbled on chord names.
And some more. This might be a waterfall
