Funnily enough Christy, I was only down in Newbridge earlier this week for the first time in a few years. Used to be there regularly up to 8-10 years ago. Back then as you drove into town you’d be greeted by big billboards for the “Silverware” company adorned with the face of a certain individual who shared a surname with a famous tin a soup! Didn’t notice any this time around!
Christy's reply
no sign of her around the old town these days…. bigger diamonds in Africa
Hi Christy
We are back home now listening to Sean-Nos Nua.
The duet in Lord Baker is amazing and gives us both shivers.
What a tragic waste to us all now that Sinead is no longer with us.
Stay safe and well my friend and good look with the Dublin concerts.
Christy's reply
singing with Sinéad was always a pleasure…a very special artist..a powerful woman
Hi Christy Im sure your aware. “Fan”is short for Fanatic!🙈🤣. And im sure this has been asked before. But why are there no “singles” being released now with the new albums for us Hallions ?
Ps i thought the Gig this summer in botanic gdns was Perfect. I dunno whether it was the weather or you were abit on edge being outdoors either way the accoustics an vocals were perfect. If this was recorded as an album. Id have it on REPEAT!! Well played ya legend 10/10 chara👏👏👏☘️☘️

Claddagh released a radio play single of “Black & Amber” ..they plan to follow up with “Boy in The Wild” on Nov 1st…..the Botanic gig went well…glad you enjoyed it…I think I’ll stick to indoor gigs for the remainder of the tour….I’ll leave the great outdoors to the young Hallions
Hi i am looking forward to Sunday night in the hope of seeing the RTE programme with CM and CS , hoping that i can find it or that it will be soon on youtube.
It is a week since i posted, life seems to be unnecessarily hectic and fast just now so i am looking forward to the new LP dropping through the door to calm me down.
Joxer ( the horse) fractured his knee at Perth and with racing days over the rest of the owners wanted to ‘euthanase’ him….!! Thankfully the wife and i took him over, he has had a big op , 3 months box rest and yesterday came out to be my wife’s pet running around a field, but my question is whether a German lady is likely to appear from the banks of the Rhine to claim and marry him?
Joxer goes to Hawick via Stuttgart.

hope Joxer can manage “the job” with three good knees
Hi Christy.
I’m looking forward to Sunday night in Waterford. I’m making the quick spin down from Kilkenny, it’ll be my fourth show of yours to attend this year – each better than the last.
Am I correct in saying you lived in Kilkenny for a start? Through your book I came across “Kilkenny Doll”. A strikingly simple but angering story of mistreatment of travellers. Sadly a common theme.
Aidan.
Christy's reply
yes Aiden…we spent a few happy years above on the Castlecomer Plateau back in the 1970s….great neighbours and friends up around Coolcullen and The Ridge…down into Coon and into ‘Comer….had manys the gallery back in the day…manys the gig back then…Tom Kinsella was my road manager and Mikey Kelly was in charge of security… Walshes, Stedmonds and Kellys the very best of neighbours…
HI Christy,
Lovely tribute to The Blue Panther,
Anton O’ Toole on TG 4.
Would we have beaten the six in a row side ?
It would have been close but most of the seventies
lads are pushing sixty.

Hope the new rules bring the old game back.

It’s also a musical genre for some is it not! Cuntery! Didn’t Buddy Rich have some strong opinions on it! I’m not so sure though! I think all styles and genres have their place in the world!

the nearest we came to that word was Newbridge Cutlery….one of three factories in the town when I was a boy..(the others being Irish Ropes and Irish Last Works)….I still check knives to find where they were produced…the Cutlery eventually becdaame Newbridge Silverware……..
Hello Christy, in Germany there is an event series ‘Zeitgeist Irland 2024’. ( spirit of the age ) It’s connecting genres. In a small Kulturkneipe I was watching to Wallis Bird live on stage. A rocky singer-songwriter. Or listening to a classical radio concert conducted by David Brophy. He moved to Cologne becoming responsible for the west germany broadcast orchestra. Great. Music is life.
I like reading the personal experiences of fans coming to your performances. Good to notice gigs are continuing great.
All the best. Günter

John Lydon aka Johnny Rotten…. the only one (to my Knowledge… ) that stood up and called out Jimmy Saville for the twisted pervert that he was…
Fair play to him.
Hi Christy,
I got some treasure from the latest record fair.
An album called Hank Williams sings.
On the sleeve notes it says that Hank and the boys,
entered the studio on September 23, 1952 at 1:30pm.
Recorded four tracks including Your Cheatin’ Heart
and Take These Chains From My Heart.
And exited the studio at 3:40pm.
Thanks to Rebecca for The Brown Eyes video.
One of Shane’s finest. Nearly forty feckin’ years old.
Fair play for mentioning Jem Finer, he also served.
I do remember John Lydon using the infamous
C-word on TOTP back in the day.
We’re so pretty, oh so pretty.
We’re va- cunt and we don’t care.
And wondering how the fuck did he just get away with that ?

Hi Christie
Myself and my sons are coming over from the Western Isles of Scotland for your gig in Castlebar next week. I have seen you a few times before in London (Smoke and Strong Whiskey tour) and in Glasgow and Edinburgh and it would be great if you could give us a shout !
All the best

Have a safe journey from the Outer Hebrides to the Plains of Sweet Mayo…tell us more about music on the Islands
Dear Mr. Moore, I love listening to your music. Congrats on all your success. I was listening to Sail on Jimmy on Youtube (live at the Marquee) and it brought tears to my eyes. Such an amazing song on so many levels. It seemed like the people were not familiar with it at the beginning and by the end everyone was singing. I live in Canada and it has always been a dream to visit Ireland as my Grandfather’s family was from Waterford. Next year I hope to realize that dream and hopefully while I am there I can attend a concert. Cheers!
Christy's reply
come on over you War Eagle…..my own maternal Grandfathers people came for the same parts… Jack Power’s family came from Oylgate
Thats fair enough Christy. Wouldn’t want to be getting in trouble with the Deise men. However, I can tell ye that there will be a strong attendance from the Clare Persons Association that reside within the Deise county. My mother is one of their proud members and will be expecting some lyrics about the Banner County to be sung on the night (especially after their victorious battle against the Rebels earlier in the year). They’ll be sure to keep the Deise men in their seats if any fuss is made!
Christy's reply
your second posting is more confusing than you’re first….initially you asked for an Armagh song for either your Mother or Grandmother (104)…now there is talk of insurrection in the stalls…..talk of Bannermen , Rebels keeping the Deise in their seats…I’ve contacted An Garda, FCA,Civil Defence, Legion of Mary, Young Fine Gael, ESB, IDA, ITGWU and Coolock IRA/UDA/UVF peace corps…all will be standing by if there is any trouble at our gig….let there be no fuss
You’re taking me back to my childhood. Loved Kenny Everett and his blonde bombshell character with the beard and magnificent breasts. We had no idea why her name was supposed to be funny, it meant nothing to do with either geography or utility (depending on whether you are the owner or not).
Christy's reply
Kenny was a quare hawk..no doubt… we’ll never forget how he crossed his knees
Dear Christy, I hope you don’t mind me using the guestbook as a support network. This year I was determined not to use the ‘C’ word before the end of November, that is the ‘C’ word used to describe the seasonal holiday at the end of December, as opposed to the ‘C’ word I use to describe Tories, Trump & Netanyahu (which thanks to them feckers I now use on a daily basis). However we’re barely out of the first week in October and I’m already struggling, I went to the supermarket yesterday, although I deliberately avoided the Greeting Cards isle I found myself drawn to the Baileys and After Eight Mint displays as if by an invisible magnet and came within a hares breath of depositing a box of (luxury, all butter) mince pies into the trolley. The good news is everyone knows what to buy me this year, the bad news is I can see myself ending up with six or seven copies of A Terrible Beauty (but they say you can’t have too much of a good thing). Anyway if there is anyone else out there struggling, you are not alone and can I take this opportunity to wish you all a very Merry C….. (nearly).

Mine too…John (Jack Power) was my maternal grandfather…his Father, also John Power left Oylgate and moved to County Meath
