I prefer you down here too, but you do do a great job of being up there too.
We managed to make a total bollocks of the last two kicks against the all blacks to lose. Where’s Owen when you need him. Oh yes, in France, chased off by a load of his own. Stupidity in spadeloads.

watched it last night after the gig….hard to beat the All Blacks…but ye could have done it
I can only specifically recall one time – the gig in Boyle in June 2014. Possibly once in Barrowlands but wouldn’t swear to it. Looking forward to hearing it again in the set x

There was me thinking I’d never gigged it !!
let me know next time you’re droppin into a gig and I’ll give it a whirl….
Brilliant that a fab gig was added to the buzz of LP release…
Gerry’s post mentioning Paul Weller reminded me…
In April,2011,unusually,I had a free afternoon in London and headed to see a wonderful exhibition of Syd Barrett’s art.A few minutes in,turning a tight corner in a small room,I literally bumped into Paul Weller .Apologies we’re laughed off and we moved on…minutes later, it almost happened again…Weller solved the problem by chatting about the painting that had grabbed his attention. For the rest of the visit,we shared the magic of Barrett’s talents. I never asked him any of the zillions of Jam era questions,in my head…His music, never mentioned.
Awhile later,we stood outside the gallery ,agreeing that we’d seen very special, genius art. We shook hands and rejoineed theeal world…
It was a class afternoon in the best of company,
Enjoy a rest day.

its encouraging to hear that “Boy in The Wild” is settling into the set…its been my focus for the past few week, trying to find a way to present it in the live setting….
Hi Christy, hope you are enjoying being back in the Vicar Street driving seat with your merry band of listeners on board.
I have spent the last 24 hours exploring the new album, it’s a hard hitter in many ways, shining a light on so many things that are not spoken of enough, the reality of addiction for the addict and those around them, the inhumanity of war and division and its impact on the lives of those who are caught up in it and the dynamic of the father-son relationship. Also love the intimacy in the soft and harmonic way that you and Andy sang Boy in the Wild – that it represents the final instalment from our much missed and your long time companero Wally Page makes it all the more poignant. Last night’s Late Late Show was a lovely tribute to all of the above.
Thanks for including Broomielaw also, that’s been a long time favourite of mine! See you along the way x
Christy's reply
Have I gigged “Broomielaw” before ? I used to do it at sound checks ..remind me If I have gigged it….its a beautiful old Glasgow song…..I’ve no idea where Mick Moloney learned it…never got to ask the man…
Congratulations on this beautiful album. Listening through Spotify while i get my hand on the real thing…
Boy in the wild hit this grandma specially, i think of Wally often…
Andy’s singing so beautiful, well done everyone.

Christy..Thought it was an outstanding performance last night much like what tonight’s gig will be like no doubt, I hope Ireland’s rising fascist tide were all tuned in to you singing Viva La Quinta Brigada on the telly. 🇮🇪
Dear Christy.
Congratulations on your new album. There are some beautiful songs in it. I saw you on the late late show last night, and you did so well. Honestly I wasn’t a bit surprised when I heard that your Vicar Street concert sold out in twenty minutes, because Ireland will never see the likes of you again.

Keep singing the good stuff…
“On a Monday Morning early
as my wandering steps did take me
down by a Farmer’s station,
his meadow and green lawn
I heard great lamentation
that the wee birds they were making
saying we’ll have no more engagements
with The Boys of Mullaghbawn”
keep an eye out for two great song books
“Irish Street Ballads” and “More Irish Street Ballad”
both these collections by Colm O’Lochlainn…they were the principal source for many of us back in the 1960s….still many gems to be discovered in those books
The boy in the wild is proudly hanging up, a great written piece by Wally Page. I was delighted to see the launch of a terrible beauty with Claddagh Records, I have been getting music off them now for a while and Helen is a great person to work with. Secured a few tickets to see you again in June in Derry, there was a good size crowd queuing for the tickets and delighted they all got sorted, something about standing with fans, the chat and craic compared to watching a timer count down on the screen, and there’s not many now that can do that, the new music and the signed boy in the wild hanging up. It’s been a great Halloween weekend
Christy's reply
I’m delighted to be with Claddagh records…great to see the label up and running again…. Garech Brown continues to reverberate…a true knight of the Beerocracy
Hi Christy,
Well fair play to ya and the folks at Claddagh
(distribution department). The new album was
delivered this morning and it’s a joy.
Lucky enough to have heard most of the songs
at recent gigs. Some will remain stalwarts for
The Season 58 shows – Lemons Sevens,
Black & Amber, Cumann Na Mná and
The Big Marque. The repertoire keeps on
expanding and expounding. The standout
track for me is Boy in the Wild. “Is there anything
in it ?” says Wally …
Make all your mistakes, stop yourself falling
When you’re flying low, mind how you go,
Take heed who you follow
Lift up your heart, lean on your dad
When you’re not strong enough,
he’ll carry you home.
There will be many requests for this one.
Throughout the album Andy’s backing vocals
and the music by Gavin, Seamie, Jimmy
and Sean Óg fit like the proverbial glove.
They don’t play all the notes just the right ones.

Dear Mr Moore (or if I may , Christy)
I have been a massive fan for years and recently travelled from the UK to see you perform in Bundoran.
I am a 70 odd old folkie andplay and ding a bit.
I am writing a song that was inspired by a episode during the middle east conflict. The song tells the story of a woman’s body was pulled from the rubble and it was discovered that she was pregnant. Doctors performed a C section.. the baby fought for life got five days the tragically died.
I was very moved by this and together with my lyricist pal developed a song that remembers the baby and mother and condemns the perpetrators of war.
I would like to offer this song to you to create your magic. I called it Baby Sabreen.
Kind regards
