Myself, my dad and a friend of mine went to your gig in Vicar street last Thursday. Thoroughly enjoyed the songs and the stories told. We sadly lost my sister last year and bringing my dad out to see you was a welcomed distraction! Hope you got to burdocks after!
Keep up the great work!
Many thanks,
Niall
Christy's reply

I just made it into Burdocks but there was’nt a battered fish left in the shop..had to settle for a bang a chimps
Dearest Chrisy,
Just a few lines. To thank you for your recent album. And even more for your influence into my life over the decades. Being a lifelong busker getting into your music in the 80s, everytime i hear you sing/speak, it overwhelmes me. Happy to say that living in Ireland way back made my daughter love your land also, and she is living there part time now these days. Same as i busk from NY to berlin in my life. I’ll be in Ireland next week, sorry to say there are no gigs of yours where i will be then. Nevermind ….. You ll be in my heart as always.
With Love.
Marc
Christy's reply
Have a good visit Marc…Busking is a Performance Art that I greatly admire….I recall some very special buskers encountered across my life…moments of magic on streets, lanes and alleys in a hundred towns and cities…
Hello Christy,
Feeling happy for no reason this morning. Oh yes, it’s your number 1 album. Sometimes the world is a lovely place. I listened to your interview. Those interviewers can be pretty determined, can’t they. Finger picking is going – maybe not well, but it’s going. Talk of nails making me think of getting four of mine done. Maybe a two tone pink, you know, one of those that is two colours at once. Yours look lovely.

Christy
Congratulations on a great triumph of an album! I was looking forward to seeing you at Vicar Street on January 12th and January 20th but have had to postpone my trip. If anybody is interested in a free-of-charge single ticket to either of the shows please email me at lowry2120@yahoo.com. I will be unable to use the tickets but would love it if an enthusiastic fan could enjoy them. All the best!

good morning to you, by time you read this.
just heard the first half of your radio interview (broadcast nov 8th),
made my laugh a few times, ´her gay byrne telephone voice.´.
thank you for the laughs and no wonder the gramatics are not 100 %, not too many people speak gaelic so perfect, all in good company then.
great reply to that ridiculous comment there last year.
wishing you and all readers here a grand weekend.
( I put the shovel away till monday, don´t need no shovel to hang up campaign posters, so I hear). kidding.

Let’s keep the Hungry out of this one –
Mikipedia.
In ’98, they took to fields,
Wexford men with pikes and shields.
For freedom, land, life and soul,
Against the Crown’s tight-handed hold.
blood ran deep, rebels fell,
The toll of loss, the mournful bell.
A nation’s cry, time marched slow,
Through famine, pain, and bitter woe.
Chorus
From the fields of green to the city streets,- Ireland rose on weary feet. -Through tears and songs, we held our ground, -Our voices strong, our stories bound. -Oh, Ireland’s soul, forever free, -Through history’s fire, we’ll always be.
Then came the Rising, nineteen sixteen, -The poets’ dream and the rebels’ keen. -They stood in Dublin, defied the night, –
To carve a future, to claim their right. –
And though they fell, their spirits soared, -As the world looked on, their courage roared. –
And from Belfast’s walls to the Cork coast wide,- A troubled peace, but hope inside.
Chorus
From civil rights to the Good Friday deal, -Our past still raw, but wounds can heal. -Now voices gather from near and far,- To shape the land, to mend the scar.-
It’s twenty-four now and our story grows, -Through all we’ve faced, our spirit shows. – Still bound in song, and tied by kin, -Ireland’s heart will rise again.

Well Christy, Just heard the interview on the wireless. A great listen, I do hope Jim Cork was listening to hear the shout out you him and his lovely song, Gougane Barra.
Last week I heard/saw you on tele, today on the wireless. You know Christy, I prefer the wireless interview. On the tele I get a but distracted by the visuals, the closeups, the audience. On the wireless, nothing but the spoken word. I also got the feeling that the wireless interview was much deeper and broader, your answers more detailed, s few times indeed you said no, no that’s not what was meant….
Maybe it’s my upbringing, tele didn’t get into our house till the mid sixties, when some of us were already teenagers, and the wireless was our mainstay for entertainment and information.
Hello Christy.Another milestone. Number one album in its 1st week of release. It is a musical masterpiece Christy.Long may you continue releasing albums like this. The best of luck with the rest of your gigs in Vicar St..I really enjoyed ur interview with Olivar Callan.Sweet Music Roll on Christy.

It’s been quite an amazing couple of weeks for you….. and now number one in the album charts…. and deservedly so , it’s such a fantastic collection of songs and a masterstroke in the sleeve cover and naming of the record. The stars aligned for sure. Lots of hard graft and tough calls along the way for yourself and all involved I’m sure , but it’s all so so special. Well Done and breathe it all in. It’s been great to see the respect and admiration from all corners…. but hey , we’ve known how special you are for quite a while.

I’m with 100% on this one Pat…nothing on any Samsung comes near..with all their colour, diddies, mickeys, fake news, wall to wall Premiership, nothing compares to old gatherings around the wireless….neigbours congregating to hear The Grand National, The Curragh Derby, Hurling and Football Finals, Provincials and Railways Cups, MĂchĂ©al O’Hehir, Ronnie Delaney in Melbourne, The Foley Family,The Kennedys of Castleross, Din Joe, School around The Corner, Title Fights in The Middle of the night,Willie O’Grady and his gay guitar,Joe Linnane and Hospitals Requests….I’ll leave it at that

Oliver Callan programme: good interview.
for Jasus sake Ed, would you please try and keep it short
Hi C, That was a challenging enough interview, at times but you rose to the occasion with honesty and humour. I loved that Oliver Callan picked up on your feminism and the strong women in your life, as well as the songs, here is the link https://www.rte.ie/radio/radio1/oliver-callan/2024/1108/1479834-oliver-callan-friday-8-november-2024// Beir bua agus beannacht.
