Hello Christy,
If I can get anywhere near your speed and accuracy on the fretboard I will be a happy girl.
Plenty of time, as you said. Doesn’t feel like it though.
I’ve got better since I said I had 2 1/2 chords. Not sure I’m anywhere near Gipp’s 7 yet, when thinking about useability.
Here’s where I’m at
C. Not bad. Needs to be faster
D. OK. Muscle memory is on the way
D min. Pretty inaccurate
E. OK
E min. Good
F. Slow but I’ve worked out one I can do
G. Mostly OK
A. Mostly OK
A min. OK
B min. pretty inaccurate
How many’s that? If we count them all as one to be very generous. 10. But 5 that I’m reasonably happy with.
And 120 at least, with the capo!
The Oscar film world ignored the merits of the Dylan biopic.. as a Dylan addict/one who was initially ambivalent about the film,my view is still fair play to all concerned…it’s a terrific watch and listen…
Myself and all of my family are big fans of yours. We are regulars in Vicar street every January and we also always go to the Slieve Russell shows in Cavan as we live nearby.
With regard to the upcoming Slieve Russell show on the 20 March I know you have a hat you sometimes pick a few requests from so I would love if you would give a shout out to my grandmother Gretta Donohoe who will be attending and who is 91 years of age. She has a big family of 10 children, 25 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. She would love if you could sing her favourite song of yours – My little Honda 50 – as she drove a moped until recently around the country and this song always reminded her of spinning around corners on her rapid and nifty bike.
Looking forward to the show and keep doing what you are doing you make a lot of people very happy.
Rick Buckler from The Jam,
The great Gene Hackman and
Equally great Pat Ingoldsby.
That will do death.
That will feckin well do for now.
However if you’re looking for suggestions…
Cheers !! From NY We are heading back “home “ this year after having to cut our trip last visit due to the death of my dear mother in law .Unfortunately for us good for you tho 🥰 your show may 10 th is sold out. Is there any chance 3 tickets available to put a check of my bucket list. Best of luck and good health to you. ☘️

Was just watching the Folk Awards Christy and when you said Donal tickled trout or climbed trees to gaze into “Wild Birds Nest’s” Sweet jesus that just set me off! all I could think off was Johnny Moynihan singing “P Stands”, Liam Og On whistle, and Donal, twidling the knobs!
We all have our favouites and it’s difficult to disagree with any of them! Pat D’Arcy, “After The Break”, The purists prefare ‘The Well Below The Valley” Andy I is on record saying his Favourite is “The Woman”, I think yours could be “The Black Album” My own will always be “Cold Blow”!
