It is always pleasing to see that the next gig on the list is one that I will attend, now it’s the next four on the list, always good to go to Wales, see family and friends, see the mountains and the sheep.
I’ll be heading for Holyhead on tuesday.
See you soon.
Can only echo what Lar has said earlier , Great night and great songs ,we enjoyed the Ode for Seamus Heaney…and Arthurs Day of course…. but the Bogman really caught us ,, Gers Dad having worked on Bord Na Mona in the Glenties and many memories of our own youth winning the Turf. All in All a great way to celebrate a Birthday. Thanks again

p.s. In this year of Abdications and Resignations it’s great to see you banging out the songs with such energy…in spite of the bad chest.
What a tremendous gig in the fairways tonight, it had everything. Great fun, great selection of songs, great reception from a great audience, really enjoyed your banter and good humour, the pair of ya were flyin it..Dundalk will be buzzin..thanks for a grand night.

Jasus Lar but you are some bucko…I opened me eyes after an hour to glimpse the room and there you were…you sure are some long haul listener..that was the best gig I ever had in Dundalk since I first played there in 1972..that audience last night got me and Decky right into the zone…I was smothering with congestion on the chest, splutterin and inhaling vick, olbas euchalyptus, suckin zubes and fishermens friends, the dressing room was like a buckin red cross tent before the gig but soon as we hit the Fairways the vibe in the room cleared all airways and the melodies began to roll off the miraculously healed larynx…you were in good voice last night Uncle Lar (and lookin mighty svelte too..)
Don’t forget a big up for the Derry wans next Thursday Christy. Expect a few more from Liverpool to be attending as well. Wouldn’t miss it for the world and really looking forward to it. My wife broke her ankle and I told her no matter what I am going. She can stay at home but she is struggling on god love her. That’s dedication.

As an 18yo young lad all of my friends have their own heroes, Ronaldo, Brian O’Driscoll, Henry Shefflin. Christy is my hero. I can’t wait to welcome you back to Carrick-on-Suir next month. James.
Christy's reply
James, far as I can recall, this will be my first time to play in Carrick….when I was around your age I travelled there to hear Bobby and Peggy Clancy perform in a hotel just outside the town.At the time I was living in Clonmel. They were fantastic. I had heard the Clancy Brothers and Tommy Makem a few years earlier when I was 16/17 and thats what got me started all those years ago
