Having been watching Bob Dylan since 1978, an acknowledgement that there is even an audience out there is a bonus for me. I’ve already put my request in. This will be my first time watching you Christy on Saturday night. Don’t really know what took me so long. First CD I had was Live at the Point which my daughter gave to me about 10 years ago saying ‘here dad, you’ll probably like this’. She was right and I still go back to it regularly.I never really get too animated at gigs so I won’t be shouting out. I got so chilled out once at a Tom Waits gig I fell asleep. I remember my first Dylan concert well. It was June 1978 and I set off with a few friends, driven by the parish priest who was a huge fan. I’m sure I will remember the 12th October 2013 for a long time too. Best of luck to you all.
Frankie
Christy's reply
the parish priests have come on a lot since my day
Such sad news that Philip Chevron passed away. I managed to catch the fundraiser testimonial in the Olympia back in August. Sick as he was, he made his way from the balcony to the stage and thanked everyone for coming along. He’ll be sadly missed! R.I.P.
Christy, I am convinced that almost all people getting a request or „call-out“ from you go home after the concert with a warm feeling that lingers, some of them may never forget the special moment when this happens for the first time (like me). Don’t let yourself discourage by the occasional „bad apple“ or „black sheep“ … But I understand what you mean with the fluidity of songs – the announcements can distract from focussing on the music … Wondering if anybody else has an opinion here ..
Christy's reply
let us all yield up the nightime to old John ‘O Dreams
A very special request for Sat @ the Phil. I was just wondering if you could give a big shout out to everyone! (that should just about cover it) 😀 XOX P.S I hope you are well.
Christy's reply
Thanks Steph….the requests for individual “call-outs” can be overwhelming betimes…I am having to review my position as it is beginning to impact upon the fluidity of the gig ….recently I discovered someone who’s motive for seeking a “call-out” was to win a bet !.. I believe that 99% of requests are genuine. Some go to great lengths to get names called out, some stories are heartbreaking, some are banal…we are all well here today, thanks be..greetings to all songbirds on Clyde’s Bonny Banks

Hi Christy, really looking forward to your return to Liverpool this Saturday night. I’m sure you get loads of song requests so I won’t hassle you with more but is there any chance at some point during the gig on Saturday you could say happy birthday to my sister Amanda Oglesby, it would be much appreciated.
One last thing we have a friend of ours who has been a fan of yours for more years than he can remember but this is the first time he is seeing you live, his favourite song is “Vive La Quinte Bragada”. Your sett list is your own and I would never ask you change it but if your are playing it could you mention his name, it’s Billy Ward.
Once again welcome back to the “Pool” see you Saturday
Christy's reply
they do tho, don’t they,in anyways, but…..I love playing The Pool, no buts
Hi Christy, when asked which celebrity would I like to meet and talk with, I always answer Christy Moore. You come across as real and genuine. Have recently opened a small shop and cafe and am having an official opening. Is there any chance you could be our VIP for the opening? If you don’t ask….etc,! all you can say is no… !

Christy's reply
I think yon sentry went into Charlie Ryan’s for a rozzner and never came back out….met up with a platoon home from Afghanistan and 3 Mots from Two Mile House who were waitin for the 7 0’c bus to Naas….I’m raging I’m going to miss that game..we really should get together and agree to change colours.with all the colours in the spectrum its crazy for both clubs to sport green and white…mind you we are the…(no I wont go there !!!!) heres hoping that it will be a classic final and that we all leave St Conleths Park safe and sound ( I’ll be there in spirit ) I suppose you are aware that Saint Conleth himself played Junior B for The Moores before he went to Maynooth
I’ve been a fan for many years. I went with my friends to see you for my 21st at the Two Mile Inn back in 1989 and we were reminiscing about it recently when I was telling them that myself and the wife were going to see you in UL. I’m just writing to send a massive thank you. As well as being great fun your songs have been an absolute inspiration throughout the years.
Mile Buiochas Christy and best of luck for the future

Those Two-Mile-Inn nights are etched upon my memory…used to play Wed nights there in July -August then on to Gleneagles on Thursday and back up to The Wexford Inn on Friday… I feel very fortunate that the journey still continues, that the songs still resonate…glad you made it to Plessey..fair play to Chuck Feeney
Spare a thought for the Craigavon Two this week, the appeal opens in Belfast on Tuesday many have campaigned for these boys including Gerry Conlon & Paddy Joe Hill, if ye could give them a shout Christy it would be much appreciated. Help end this Miscarriage of Justice.
Hi Christy, just had very excited call from Mary with report of your kindness/thoughtfulness to herself and Conor before, during, and after the show in Portlaoise last night.
No surprise at all really ,it was in keeping with the Moore family’s track record of kindness. Simply want to record sincere thanks to you (again) for making the night so very special for Mary and particularly young Conor.

As Ireland’s finest cultural polemecist since Pearce, I’m sure your well aware of horrendous anti-democtratic debacle that was the 1707 act of union which joined our great nation of Scotland to the Butchers Apron strings, that rag of all rags, the Union Jack. Bribery, greed and corruption.
Seeing that still, 306 years later the course of politics hasn’t changed, I’d wondered if you had ever sung, or indeed, would consider the greatest song of Scotland’s national Bard in your concerts….
One of the most fantastic versions on the net is of course Luke’s.
I only recently discovered that Burns had updated the words of the Currah of KIldare from an earlier tune. I’m sure you’d agree that Rabbies fantastic words and sentiments in a parcel of rouges have as much resonance now as ever…………….
Fareweel to a’ our Scottish fame,
Fareweel our ancient glory;
Fareweel ev’n to the Scottish name,
Sae fam’d in martial story.
Now Sark rins over Solway sands,
An’ Tweed rins to the ocean,
To mark where England’s province stands-
Such a parcel of rogues in a nation!
What force or guile could not subdue,
Thro’ many warlike ages,
Is wrought now by a coward few,
For hireling traitor’s wages.
The English stell we could disdain,
Secure in valour’s station;
But English gold has been our bane-
Such a parcel of rogues in a nation!
O would, or I had seen the day
That Treason thus could sell us,
My auld grey head had lien in clay,
Wi’ Bruce and loyal Wallace!
But pith and power, till my last hour,
I’ll mak this declaration;
We’re bought and sold for English gold-
Such a parcel of rogues in a nation!
Would you consider this for your concerts in glasgow next year seeing as it will be referrendum year…….
Christy,
A wonderful performance in the’ Heritage’ last night ……there was a lovely vibe in the Hall.
Thanks for ‘ January Man’. Each time I hear you sing it there seems to be a different meaning coming out of it for me, or a different line that I hold on to,
Safe travels across the Pond and enjoy; we are indeed privileged that you continue to bring us on this super journey.

Thanks for suggesting it… its not a song for any old night..it needs the right air

Anyway Christy we need you to do a little diversion on one of your UK trips and take in the opera house over here – it would be a fanrastic spot for a gig.
