I discovered Christy Moore a few months back from a guitar student of mine. Such a great traditional singer songwriter. What a great voice. I must have been living in a cave for not finding Christy Moore sooner. Listening to and learning his songs and teaching his style to my students has been a joy. I can’t wait for the opportunity to see him in person some day.

Looking forward to seeing you in Edinburgh next year! My Dad, Jimmy Louth-originally from Cobh- and brother, Niall (8), are travelling over from Scotland,to be at your concert in Cork tonight. They’re going with my Aunt- Mary and Uncle-Tony. My Uncle Tony doesn’t have a clue they’re coming over and will only find out when they come and sit dow next to him at the concert tonight. A shout out for all of them would be great! And ‘The Fairytale of New York’ please!
Thanks,
Mary Louth

Hi, Owen Keogh. It’s nice to see your message here and it brings back memories of two years ago. Christy, Owen and I met by chance since I was heading home last minute and didn’t have a ticket for the Vicar St. do. You directed me to the 4711 site, where I connected with Owen who was en route from down under. He had spare tickets since he had initially booked for the wrong night, so we negotiated and I met up with him under the awning in the alley to get them. My son and I then found ourselves in prime seats in the front row right under your nose. (I was a bit nervous about this since I’m a back seat of the chapel type of person, but it was a brilliant.) I even came away with a cracked pick that had fallen on the stage and I now keep it and treat it reverently like a relic. (Saint Christy!!) Anyway, Owen, I hope you and the family are doing well. I’m also awaiting the new record. All the best.
Christy's reply
thats a grand story that you share…its just what I hoped for when setting up this site..getting people together…the idea of Lizzy from California meeting up with Owen from Australia outside Vicar St in Dublin…greetings to all of you Dreamers and Song Birds
