Christy.
Holding a charity evening on 15th March 2014 in Sean Mac’s pub Riverstown, Sligo to raise funds for Sligo Hospital Oncology Unit Trust. I guess you would not be able to make it with such short notice, but my real reason is to see if you could donate anything for auction on the evening.
Regards
Mark
Is there any chance that you might be coming out to the States in the near future? We’d love to see you in the San Francisco Bay Area.
Cheers!

Thanks for a brilliant show in the Board Gais tonight. It ebbed and flowed in all directions. It’s a while since I heard the Goat Skin delivering such wonderful notes, and Jimmy really added to it… just a pleasure to listen to.

I saw a lovely gig on Thursday night in Whelans (25). Declan Sinnott was there. joined on stage by Vicky Keating. It was a great gig, really enjoyed, good fun, great stories, humour, almost like sitiing around in a cosy room listening and watching an amazing talent doin his thing. If any readers are close to one of their gigs, I would really urge them to go..its a great night. Declan is a cool cat for sure.
Great reports from Grand Canal…the never ending tour…
Christy's reply
The Doctor ‘n Ms Vicky are clocking up some sweet gigs…long may they rock, together may they roll

Maureen O’Hara was a smasher in that old picture..I saw it with my grandfather, Jack Power, in the Savoy Cinema,O’Connell St., Dublin back around 1956.We travelled from Celbridge in the old Ford Prefect and he parked it right outside the cinema. I still remember a man buskin the queue. Afterwards we stopped in Pacitti’s Ice Cream Parlour in Parkgate Street for 2 Knickerbocker Glories. Around the same time we saw “Mr Roberts”, “To Hell and Back” and “THe Long Grey Line”
From the Point Depot in early 1995 as a 12-year-old to the Bord Gais on Saturday night…with stops in Derry, Vicar St, the Forum, Punchestown, Letterkenny, the “O2” – a far cry from the old cow shed – along the way. Every time it has been a treat Christy. Yourself and Deccy are a brilliant pair.
Hopefully the fancy surrounds of the Bord Gais will mean you dont need to keep the ol cap on to avoid the drafts on Saturday night.
I wouldnt dream of interupting a man in full flow but if you were to play Faithful Departed it would go down lovely.
Keep her lit.
Enda

We’ll climb Nelson’s Pillar like you always meant to
Well Christy, tá súil agam go bhfuil tu ag coinneal go maith!!
Myself and a few lads from work are heading to see yourself and the legend that is Mr. Sinnott tomorrow night in the Bord Gais! Although I’ve often played many of your songs on a night out (badly might I add), I’ve never had the pleasure of hearing you live in action so to say I’m looking forward to it would be an understatement!
One of my colleagues is called John Daly and he is a big fan of My Little Honda 50, so if you happen to sing it tomorrow night then please give him a little mention!!
Coinnigh leis agus Go n-éirí an bóthar leat!!

I was thrown out of the Johnny Foxes (Plastic Irish theme) pub by the Ness for owning up tor being mentally ill. My crime was speaking very simple Irish to myself. Do you know the bar? Do you want to know it? Hope your heart is still going strong. Have they removed the barbed wire around the ferry yet? See you soon. Hugs
Christy's reply
Johnny Fox’s was never on my route (that I can remember)…theres still no barbed wire around the mailboat….there is no shame in being thrown out of some of them auld kips
The bags are packed and we are ready to go , it will be up early in the morning, flight from Bergen to Oslo and then on to Dublin. Pick up a car at the airport and head for Kells , spend the night with the Mammy , and back to Dublin Saturday to see yerself and Declan . If you could sing Ride On for Kevin Tobin , a young Irish Norwegian man attending his first ever Christy concert , it would make the trip back to Norway on Sunday alot easier. So looking forward to the gig .
Regards
Maurice Tobin and Kevin Tobin

Hi Christy,
Heading for the gig on Saturday evening with Rita and your No. 1 fan Stevie of Special Olympics fame. Cant wait to see yourself and Declan in full flow. If you could give Stevie a shout out it would make his night. He has the Cd of Lisdoonvarna worn out at this stage.

Would you ever consider playing in the UAE? Irish Village in Dubai?
Christy's reply
Mark a Mhaicín, The truth is I have 5,000 villages here to play before I take off…I was in Muscat once for 40 minutes and I nearly died of the heat… the nearest I got to Dubai was Kildare Shopping Village ..perfect if your after a handbag or a pair of sunglasses
Hey Chrsto,
Heading to the Grand Canal on Friday to catch yourself and the Wexford man, front row seats if you don’t mind, if the ‘The Two Conneelys’ are around, it would be great to hear it. I presume you’ve heard that the Forum has decided to quit hosting live music. So you might be the last gig there. The cost coupled with poor attendences at other gigs was the main cause. I think they’re going down the route of hosting large bingo nights instead! Such a pity, it’s one of those cosy type of places and I know yourself and Dec always played there. Maybe ye could turn up as ‘bingo callers’ and sneak in a song or two!! Keep between the ditches, see you on Friday.
Christy's reply
Two Conneeleys and Gortatagort. Two very different songs. Yet I never want to have them in the same set. We did 33 songs last night yet something prevents me playing both…something I can neither understand nor explain, just have to sing Gorta these nights, it is like a perfect gem………..I am saddened to hear about The Forum in Waterford..one of the great Independent Theatres….Ciaran has been a champion of live music for many years and we will miss playing his gig…hopefully he will not be ‘dark’ for too long
