Hej grabbar 🙂 isn’t it time to pay a visit to Sweden??? And take Shane with you….. You can’t keep us away from a live concert….you really can’t. It could happen this summer, I’ll show you around if you want me to.
There are nice cosy places here…..the perfect location for a small, intimate sessions. You’ll enjoy it. We love your music…. I heard a dutch reporter saying: “this is no music….this is Art” He’s right.
Thanx for that.

I’m glad the site is back up again, the exterminators seem to have had a big job.
I hope it won’t be too long before I get myself back to Ireland again.
Good stuff!! The engine has been re-tuned…spark plugs replaced…..the oil mix for the 2 stroke is spot on and the kick start is back on its stand. Good to see the site back up and running!!

Christy Moore: Let the Music Keep Your Spirits High
Hello Christy, Hope all well with you. Great to see the new site is up and running. I have been out of touch with the (old) site for some time, but looking forward to enjoying the new site, reading your comments and enjoying the craic. Have not been out of touch with the music though and enjoyed your Christmas Gigs in Vicker St. & G.C.T. Folk Tale is great and I love the mix ………As I rambled abroad by Kilsheelin where the river meanders on down…. Jesus that song paints a lovely picture in my mind. Pity about that shower MSD.
Ride on for ever

Christy: Looking to organize a trip to Auld Sod in April, the Parents will be celebrating 50 years, I will have the missus with me, first time in Ireland and hoping to catch you in Caisleán an Bharraigh on April 28th. She is an Opera Singer so if you can belt out a bit from Rigoletto or The Marriage of Figaro that would be outstanding…….Plans still in the works will let you know if we are on the way closer to the date……..Shine on………

Good work on the new site – I had to laugh when I tried to create a username and got a message to say it contained “illegal characters”! Wow things have gotten strict around here! :o) Will miss the old guestbook though it was nice to click back and read some old stuff from time to time. But onwards and upwards! Will there be a prize for the 4,711th person to re-register?!
Christy's reply
I’m assured that the earlier stuff will be archived…change is always difficult (for about a week) but now we’re up and away
Hi Christy, Just checking in with you. New guestbook looking good ! All well up here in Donegal… Great news yesterday I’m sure you heard, we came out tops in a poll published for having the sexiest accent in Ireland…… Hard to beat the Donegal Twang…..Daniel has alot to answer for…..LOL ! Love & Respect Martin Mac
Hi Christy,
Glad the new site is up and running. Just wanted to say the new album is great. Love the balance of light hearted and thought provoking. Honda 50’s really funny and gets you tapping the foot. I was pleasantly surprised to hear Weekend in Amsterdam which seemed to be a ‘sequel’ to Craic was 90. Great to have some of the older songs dusted off and revisited too, like you did on Listen, I love John O’Dreams and was glad it got a rework on the album and Easter Snow on Folk Tale. If only everyone was as grateful…suppose you can’t please all of the people all of the time…
Keep them coming. If only the next album had Raggle Taggle/Tabhair Dom do Lamh.
Hi Christy, Glad to see you online again. Last weekend we went to Athy Co. Kildare to a wedding. It was our first time in Kildare. We thought of you as we passed Newbridge. Anyway we were very welcome in Athy meeting family and making new friends from Kildare. We had a great time all night and to top it all and round off a great night we turned on RTE and there was yourself talking to Gaybo. Perfect end to a day in Athy Co.Kildare. All the best. ps. Are you playing Clifden again. Thanks for the song you sang me due to my passport problem. Made my 60th very special.

Hi christy. Ive got a ticket to see you in Leeds on April 1st. My friend, Sarah is coming with me and is from Derry and studying for a masters in Leeds. She’s finding it pretty tough at university, and I would be really grateful if you could play ‘back home in Derry’ for her and possibly dedicate it to her. Best wishes christy. Tom
Hi Christy,
After the disappointment that was ‘Listen’ I left it for a while before getting ‘Folk Tale’ and I’ve got to say this is a major downturn. This constant re-working of songs that have been previously recorded is just not working and is, to say the least, a bit of a cop out. On ‘Folk Tale’ almost 50% of the album contains tracks from previous recordings – Tyrone Boys, Folk Tale, Easter Snow, Weekend in Amsterdam(just a new version of The Crack was Ninety)and God Woman. Of the other new tracks On Morecambe Bay is obviously a classic but I cannot see how My Little Honda 50 even gets near a recording studio. Same on ‘Listen’ – why do we need new recordings of John O’Dreams and Rory is Gone. Got to go back to Burning Times for the last truly good collection and selection of songs but even there the title track is a re-recording. If there is such a need to re-record all these tracks why not do a complete album then we will know exactly what to expect.
Now I’ve been there since ‘Propserous’ and have really enjoyed the journey and the way the work has evolved. Hope all the success has’nt taken away the cutting edge and put you in the comfort zone.

sorry to read of your disappointment Dennis…I stand by the recent work as been the best that I could do at the time, I have no regrets to offer you with regard to the repertoire…. my cutting edge and comfort zone are in the same room….if you feel its getting blunt not a whole lot I can do about that…thanks for listening and offering your honest opinion
Hi Christy. Pleased you have your website back up and running. We enjoyed your Morecambe Bay song in the BBC Radio 2 Folk Awards. We have our tickets for your new tour and look forward very much to seeing you again, on the 8th November at the Festival Theatre, Edinburgh.
