An immense gig at the City Hall last night, Christy. “Little Musgrave” was a fabulous opener (especially as I’d heard Fairport do “Matty Groves” to end their set in February at the Sage). However my particular favourites were “Tyrone Boys” & “Ordinary Man.” Shame no “Spancillhill,” but here’s notice to ask for it next time. Also, I was moved from Row C, which was apparently closed at your request (so the venue said) back to Row H. Why was that?
Christy's reply
During the sound check I realised that some of the front row seats were visually impaired by monitors. I did it as I was concerned for those in the front row. I regret any inconvenience caused you. Spancilhill is an elusive gem, the air has to be right
Just tremendous last night Christy. From all the members of the Tyneside No1 CSC. thanks for a brilliant night. Fantastic way to end the weekend, with today to recover.
Daniel O`Donnells MBE will live with me forever. Thanks again
Hi Christy. Attended your gig at Newcastle City Hall. You are some guy. Made a lot of people very happy. Loved the opener LITTLE MUSGRAVE. Whole set was fantastic. I take it that the song Declan performed will be on his solo album? Finally, I must apologise……….I was the one who yelled out for JOXER. Can’t wait for you to hit these parts again.
Christy's reply
“Sun Shine In” will be on Declan’s forthcoming album….thanks for a great night..ye were a brilliant audience
Thank you so much for playing Sweet Thames Flow Softly last night at a wonderful concert in Liverpool. To hear that and your beautiful rendition of John O Dreams for Barney McKenna made for yet another amazing evening in your and Dec’s company. Totally uplifting -thank you.
hi Christy. Just driven down from Edinburgh to Newcastle for tonights gig and very much looking forward to it. It’s a treat for my wife Barbara who has been working hard and so deserves it. If you could play her something and give her a shout out I know she would be thrilled. She loves Nancy Spain. All the best. Brian

Just a wee thank you for tonight Christy. Yourself and Declan were top notch and tonight has to be the best I’ve seen you at the Phil’. Too many great moments but ‘Little Musgrave’ was a grand thing. I live that song everytime I hear it and tonight was the first time in person, magic ๐
Great concert tonight Christy – many thanks to you and Declan. Lots of very thoughful songs on the list among the old favourites and the new ones from the latest CD. Six years ago you sang for my oldest grand-daughter at the Bridgewater Hall, tonight our next grand-daughter came with us to enjoy the Philharmonic atmosphere and keep the tradition going. There’s two more still to come and hear you sing so please keep the concerts going! Lovely to sing along with you – loved to hear Four Strong Winds again.
