Hey christy, iv been in contact with yourself before and met you you several times on the road, you gave me an amazing gift a couple years ago in Drogheda by signing a photograph for my father in which he hangs proudly on our home wall…
i took it further by purchasing him tickets this year as a gift for your concert in the INEC Kilarney!! Unfortunatly he was unable to make it due to poor health.. but i went on ahead, quite a trip but well worth it.. amazing show!! I was speaking to your “Manager”?? Cant mind his name, but i bump into him most shows i attend, lol.
To cut a long story short, your now in my neck of the woods, Co.Down (big smiles) and as its obviously alot closer i have again purchased my father tickets this fathers day past.. as journey is short he has high hopes to make it. Would there by any possibility we could suprise him with getting a photo with yourself? I know you are a busy man and it might not be possible but it be a massive pick me up for him. His idol!

Christy, I post here not out of vanity or disrespect, but because you are a real human being. That’s I think – other than you are Irish and might understand me – is why I do this. Well I was two weeks sober Christy. Like George Carlin said, he kept going longer and longer without drinking. I plan that for myself. It’s been two weeks. Next, it will be three, than four etc. But, If I can eventually drink a six pack o9n occasion – just a six pack. Then I am ok with that. Today I have had a few brew and am listening to some traditional Irish music and I can tell you, I am at ease. Peace Christy and I thank you for the children of Gaza concert. Right up there with the Doctors Without Borders conscience. Major thumbs up! If I had the money, Man! I would be there for this venue.
Good luck with the George Carlin method. So called “controlled drinking” never worked for me.I slowly learned that one drink was too many yet one hundred drinks was never enough. Congrats on achieving two weeks sobriety ( whilst contemplating the next six pack ) Happy Headphones Charles….
Brilliant concert in Sneem last week … Thank you! it was a fine occasion and a great venue. Maybe we did not completely change the world at Carnesore but we tried!! Thanks to you we also spent a fine week in the Sneem area … Food for the soul!

Hi there.
Wonders never cease. The sun is shining in Oldham and I finish work in 20 mins.
Them Fairport boys will be nestling down now and concocting next year’s set list for Cropredy. Make sure your phone is fully charged.
Have you seen the price of the Ryanair flights from Manchester for the weekend of the Six Nations matches. Hopefully over on March 7th for the England game so gonna make it a Friday to a Tuesday to beat them. Probably a false economy really but makes me feel better. Perhaps you’ll be knocking about for a brandy and port.
Best wishes to you and yours.

Isra and Mohammed had a boy Yusef (Little Joe) back in April. Sadly for 51 days of that young life he has been subjected to the murderous Israeli attack on Gaza. Hopefully he is too young to remember the bombing and shelling.
Liz and I have kept in regular contact with Ira and Mohammed by skype since mid 2012. Recently we can always hear the drone aircraft and in one case an explosion right by their building in Gaza City. Thankfully, they are still alive. Perhaps one day we’ll all be able to meet for real.
Take care now

Dear Christy
Not sure if I sent you this song, which I wrote for two dear friends when I was in Palestine in November 2012.
It’s yours if you wanted to sing it.
I’ve posted my (raw) version of the song.
A Song of Love in Gaza 2012

I’ve spoken to my dear friends Mohammed Soliman and Isra Badwan in Gaza tonight and they have allowed me to post their song of love, which I wrote today, on the computer of more great friends, Erella and Dani Dunayevsky, at Kibbutz Shoval, just 25km from Gaza.
I learned about Isra and Mohammed some months ago when a mutual friend in Gaza, Jehad Saftawy introduced me on Skype. I was deeply moved by their story. I tried to capture in the song what Mohammed told me about how they were phone messaging each other to see they were both ok when so called ‘Operation Cast Lead’ happened in 2008/9. He said that in the first minute of 2009 he said to Isra that he loved her. In the first minute of 2012 he proposed to her. They married a few months ago.
The suffered so much then and now again during this latest barbaric attack by the Zionist state of Israel. In one of her texts to me this week Isra said they were in a nightmare. She was so frightened that she lost her voice and said she would never be able to sing again.
Earlier in the week Isra and Mohammed came to a decision that they would not be able to fulfil their dream of having a family, as they could not bring a child into the hell of Gaza.
I tried, along with others who have contacted them to offer hope. I do believe that Isra will find her voice again and that they will have the children they want so much.
Isra said tonight that she hoped we would be able to sing and play music together. What a joy that will be. I wanted it to be a song of love and hope.
We enjoyed your gig in Charleville last Friday night, a most enjoyable night with friends, we continued on into Cork City on Saturday for the hubby’s visit to the old home stead. Best news too, we are looking forward to seeing you again October 12th, some people get all the luck. J & P

As the Memory of last week’s Charleville gig slips away into the archive I start to turn my attention to what lies ahead…Oct 12th is still some time hence but already there are plans in place and ideas beginning to take shape….I’m going to raffle a Gold Disc ( from the1987 album “Unfinished Revolution”) and maybe auction a print of Brian Maguire’s renowned painting “Death of Rachel Corrie”….proceeds from both to go to Gaza…..
Thank you Christy! The old hand is nearly the same as it was before. Hope the “procedure” goes well again and there won’t be any detractions for you.
Great that you are now singing the Ballad of Patrick Murphy on stage. We heard it from John Spillane as part of his Passage West Trilogy at his Clon gig in June and I was wondering how you would interpret this impressive song. Maybe it will make an appearance when we are seeing you next time.
