We are making a special trip to Dublin from Texas come early September. Didn’t see any shows booked for that month…any chance some will be added? Would love to catch you live.

Christy's reply
we hope to have some gigs in Ireland at that time but nothing confirmed as of yet…keep an eye on the diary, sign up for newsletter…have a good trip from Texas
Hey Christy, I hope you are well. I was wondering if you think you might do a new live CD in the future? Everything crossed. : ) xox p.s Do you still have a recording of Go Move Shift that was recorded @ The Barrowlands?
Christy's reply
Hi Steph,,no plans at the moment..there have been quite a few live recordings latterly……dont know what “Go Move” recording you mean…happy listening
Hi christy, hope the form is good:-) sat at home having a few beers and watching you and declan own barrowlands, doesnt matter how many times i watch that dvd it doesnt get old:-) however after the dvd ended i decided to watch the dubliners live from vicar street in 2006 which i consider to be equally amazing, Im young enough to have never seen the great luke kelly but i know how amazing he was thankfully through things like youtube and listening to stories from john and barney at concerts. Everything about this concert for me as a dubliners fan just clicked in to place that night and i include patsy watchorn in that. I know many people who say he is not a real dubliner but for me personally being a huge fan both past and present of the group i consider him to be great. And having seen the lads in vicar street at christmas 3 or 4 years running now it makes me so sad to think with the unexpected passing of barney i may not see them again. Such a shame considering how strong they were going on the road even after 50 years. I know your a fan of the lads too so i hope ya dont mind me sharing my thoughts:-) Take care and im looking forward to seeing ya in tullamore next month
We’ll definitely catch you again. Sorry you couldn’t find Maurice’s song. You’ve got to type in “Mochara Arraneye” and it will come up top of the list! Its too good to miss – honestly. Good luck!
Christy's reply
the problem solved,I got to hear Maurice sing which was a treat…great bit of piping and whistling too..they make a great sound
Christy: All set for Westport, I will be over with the missus, she is dying to see you, it will be a first for her, (Julie), she wants to see what all the fuzz is about with a C.Moore show. We are over for the parents 50th so the craic will be 90, I hope you have an auld Aria from La Traviata ready to go………… Gary
Christy's reply
Im working hard at traviata but dont go to westport, I’ll be in castlebar
Great to read all the positive comments from the UK tour….. makes us look forward all the more to the Derry gigs. Good to see too that theres a gig coming down the line in Dunlewey at the foot of Mt Errigal – a beautiful place.
Your mention of the Grand National reminded me of the Gathering in Lisdoon and how we watched the race just after the Q&A session …..some weekend.
Christy's reply
the last winner I had was Mr What, he came in at 18/1 ps just remembered I also had Heathersett who came in at 66/1..I still have the winnings in The Post Office
Really enjoyed the gig at Newcastle on 8 April and heard a lot of great songs. Will have to catch you again some time as would love to hear you do Aisling. Quite a few people refer you to songs they like and, I’m sorry but I’m no exception! If you get a chance listen to “Mochara arraneye” on Youtube – a performance of Belfast singer/songwriter Maurice Dickson’s song “I am just a dreamer”. Thanks again for the music…
Christy's reply
let me know if you’re coming again and I will try to perform Aisling, gave her an outing on the recent tour, its a fine song…..could not find the song you mention on YouTube but good to hear Maurice Dixon
Just to let your North East fans know that my review of your City Hall show should be in tomorrows Sunday Sun. Also a big thank you to Paddy D for arranging the photo pass for me. It was a great show and a pleasure to review!!

I had a great time at the gig in Liverpool. Everytime I see Christy (which is often) I am awed by his voice and the emotion in his singing.
Christy, if you see this, I have a song suggestion for you: you would make an incredibly moving cover of this song (Soaked, written by Matt Bellamy of Muse & recorded by Adam Lambert) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DAondvYcVj0
“Soaked to the bone, sink like a stone, walk home alone,
it’s not the first time, it’s not the worst crime, your soul will be OK.”
Christy's reply
some singer alright, great voice, never heard the lad before, very impressive keks,
Philharmonic liverpool front row with my son was magical – it’s great that he discovered your music without my biased help and we were both singing our hearts out. Thanks for tyrone boys in particular -would like to read your essay on this when the website is working – for me it’s a standout on an excellent album and I’m sure this song will become one of your most requsted classics.
Christy's reply

We went to the gig on Saturday at Newcastle City Hall. I was worried about whether I would enjoy it or not as I was not very familiar with Christie’s work, but I needn’t have worried…I had a ‘whale of a time’ and would go to another concert anytime.

Myself and hubby saw Christy in Newcastle, our first time! Fantastic! I never dreamt that I would get to see a live gig, we are so impressed we have today booked Barrowlands, can’t wait. We first heard Christy on a cd in the crown Belfast while having our dinner, we asked the waitress who was being played and have never looked back. Great gig at Newcastle, Couldn’t pick a favourite, Nancy Spain was memorable though, Christys voice was so clear throughout, I could have listened all night.
Counting down till Barrowlands.
