Hey Adam, I really like the new direction of your photographs..they are becoming a lot more interesting..there was a really good narrative in your Canterbury series..thanks for sharing..later gator
Good to hear the positive vibes from the UK tour – and the invading party seem to be enjoying the gigs too 🙂 Saw the rte trailer for next Sunday’s show. Shouldn’t judge a book by its cover, but if you can judge a film by its trailer, I’d say those guys have done the project justice. Looking forward to seeing it. Keep well on the road Christy and hope to see you along the way. Thanks for all the joy you bring.

we’re nearly done here John…then back to The Mainland…greetings to The Diamond

I forgot oblivious. Another great song. And I’ll add the gardener (which I robbed from the post below)
How was the gig in liberty hall after? Saw you playing with Matt molloy on YouTube. Unreal. Did you sing with anyone else? What did you sing yourself? As always great feedback from the British tour.
Good evening Christy,
Hope to get to hear you sing “The Gardener” live before the summer comes …
Currently we are praying that we’ll really be able to make the journey and attend your gigs in Carrick on Shannon und Tullow later this month.
Our garden now looks marvellous with hundreds of colourful spring flowers, even some forget-me-nots are already blooming, and a robin comes in the morning for a visit.
Happy times in London! Traudel
Christy's reply
I last played Carrick over 30 years ago…I think twas in The Bush Hotel….since then the town has grown in very direction…a very popular destination for people in a party mood….we’re gonna let it all hang out (JJ Cale)
Tullow is a regular halting site for our caravanserai…solid agricultural region which currently boasts one of Ireland’s Rugby stalwarts Sean O’Brien aka “The Tullow Tank”
Nothing like a Robin’s visit to welcome the new day…not many Robins around my current habitation
Hope ye have a good trip
Looking forward to the show on Tuesday at the Festival Hall . You played my favourite last year in Basingstoke (North and South of the River) – still my fav so hoping for it again; otherwise my football mad daughter (who is now a fan having been brought twice before to your shows!) enjoys Joxer goes to Stuttgart. Christy's reply
long time Fin..you had me worried there…thought you had baled out and gone over to Rihanna
Dear God…your man was on blinding form at Canterbury last night Christy…opening with ‘Go, Move,Shift’ was a sobering reflection for the Kent crowd and the Irish diaspora here of the migrant crisis that we witness in our county today…I hope Ewan Maccoll stirred a few hearts and consciences on that one!
Once again the boys sang my soul and it was like coming home! Thanks lads!
Christy's reply
Good man Fintan…The Marlowe was fairly rockin Sunday night…funky town,we all enjoyed ourselves…hope to get back there, if all goes well..keep comin back
Hi Christy,
Saw you in great form in Canterbury last night (3 April) and had a great night as ever – great performances of Well Below the Valley and Little Musgrave and jez the new single is mighty -a slam-dunk No.1! Didn’t know Declan was such a great singer -even if he forgot the date of his own gig! He was in fantastic form as ever on the guitar too. Thanks for coming to play at the Marlow and I hope you enjoyed it -my hands are still sore from clapping and my voice hoarse from cheering -which is pretty standard after one of your performances.
Thanks -till next time,
Feargal
Christy's reply
Morra Feargal….Yes, Declan is hitting the sweet notes these nights and he can sing too…he has released two solo albums recently and is enjoying this new phase of his long career…Jimmy Higgins has been a great addition to the Band…he holds it down solid..keeps me on the beat which allows Declan more leeway to be creative…next week in Dublin we will be joined by Sheamie O’Dowd and my Son, Andy Moore
Hello Christy,It’s been a while.I just want to say thank you for the 50th Birthday gift I received by post yesterday, the signed postcard and the setlist,a lovely surprise and much appreciated.they will take a special place on the Wall of Fame here in The Auld Triangle.I haven’t been on line much these days as I’m up to my eyes Christy.Apart from giggin’ away here in The Auld Triangle and my usual winter spot in Switzerland I’ve been travelling a lot with my son Calum helping out as much as I can with his music career,we’ve been to every corner of Spain this winter,Ecuador and Mexico and just to top it off on October 31st my wife Loli gave birth to a beautiful baby girl,Noa Heaslip Arredondo so as they say…..no rest for the wicked….I hope all is well with you Christy and even though I’m not on here much I’m always listening….again thank you…”Sweet music roll on”………Kevin.
Christy's reply
Kevin, you been a busy man….to Noa I say
“Welcome to The World”
I send best wishes to you and your Family.
Back in London tonight 50 years after my first gig here….still excited by it all …never dreamt of such venues….from The White Hart pub on Fulham Broadway to The Royal Festival Hall it has been a wonderful journey….
Only realised you were coming here last week … Great night! Highlights were Burning Times and Well Below the Valley with that superlative bodhran. Years since we heard you do that at Festival Hall so it was a special treat. Also liked Gardner Rises with the Sun … The three of you make an excellent team. Thank you for a lovely evening of music
Christy's reply
lovely town, magnificent venue, great audience…thank you
Well done Christy, Declan & Jim on an excellent gig in Brighton on Saturday.
Top choice of songs on the night. Love the new song, “What will it take to make us angry?” I can see why some might not have liked it but it certainly sums up where we have got to in the last 100 years. Certain words by James Connolly about flags over Dublin Castle spring to mind.
Good luck to ye and keep on doing what ye are doing.
Christy's reply
Moloney…hows she cuttin, where you at it these days, its a good auld song…written by Mick Blake of Leitrim Village formerly of Letterkenny…catch him on youtube
Lovely to read all the good vibes from the UK tour. Just seen the first Promo ad on RTE for the new series starting next Sunday……. The build up continues ;; can’t wait !!
Safe journey home and roll on Vicar St.

its a strange but wonderful journey…back in London again where I first landed in 1961…worked the Summer back then in Walls factory making pies…55 years later here again to play concerts in an unimaginably different world…in ’61 I shared a double bedsit with 3 other young Kildare lads….Pat McGowan,Tony Byrne and Audeon McStay….in Hammond Rd., Southall our Landlord was Mr.Khan who wore a turban…in the next room was a young lad from Nigeria, we got on well and shared a gas cooker on the landing…from Moorefield to Southall…Neesons to The Three Tuns…Newbridge College to Walls Factory…..there was a famous Northern Irish Soccer player called Johnny Crossan, I met his father in a pub in Southall, I went to Goodwood races where my neighbour Darky Prendergast had a double…8/1 and 100/8….I was in the money..it ended bad in Esher later that day…..
Today I’m in a flash hotel, gonna do a final overdub for the forthcoming album..its all but done…10 tracks ( a prize for whoever names the most trax, here on the site, I will be the judge, no objections will be entertained, the prize will be unique, cheap & tacky, and of my choosing, this will be the only announcement of this competition)
Thanks for your contact from Moate…imagine that, two nights on RTE…all for a few auld songs….and the Leinster Championship looms once more….thanks Patsy
Looking forward to Tuesday at Royal Festival Hall. My wife has complained that you rarely sing Butterfly. Any chance of making her day?
Christy's reply
