RTE One was streaming ok and then, once Christy expounded on his ancestry, the screen went … black. So I switched to the live but diminutive stream that Maryline linked and caught about a third of the final 30 minutes, because there were buffering problems.
The first episode is there, on RTE iPlayer, but “Sorry. This content is not available to watch based on your current location.”
I’m currently watching RTE One HD Live via OKLiveTV, but what will happen at 21:30 is a mystery yet to be unveiled:
Christy I would love to watch ‘Journey’ but the RTE 1 app doesn’t let me! I am in the wrong location! Is there any other means of watching it? Will there be a DVD of ‘Journey’?

Sorry Christy…everybody knew, but nobody said…sad to see where Ann Lovett and her baby died. Thanks for sharing your journey and look forward to part 2 tonight. Go raibh maith agat Christy! Mary

deep down, a Bogman, deep down, its where we come from
Dear Christy, really enjoyed and moved by part one of your intensely personal and reflective journey by song and conversation. You are a true campaigner against injustice. EvTried to watch it again on RTE player…but not in the right location!
John Spillane will play a nice intimate gig upstairs in The Punch Bowl, Booterstown on Saturday 23rd April. I’m delighted John is doing this show, promises to be a lovely night. The man, along with Christy, gave us Gortatogort, Haiti, Johnny Dont Go, Magic Nights in The Lobby Bar and the recent Ballad of Patrick Murphy.
Tickets 086-8659814 (Lar)
Thanks CM

I regret missing JohnnyBoy in Booterstown….John Spillane has written some of the most beautiful songs that I have encountered and I urge all of you around the Boro to avail of this opportunity to see him locally…and to meet the promoter and front of house impresario..the one and only Lar Flynn …..but dont you step on his blue suede shoes
My eldest son co-hosts his own weekly radio show on University radio. Today he opened with you singing ‘A Stitch in Time’……poor Terry Wogan may be gone but PeterH is taking up the baton
Well, I for one am glad that you’re “dropping the guard” a bit. Time to guard the legacy & take a break for the next round. Even the haters are coming ’round. Looking good out there Christy. Looking very good… I ended up making my way down to the oldest juke joint in Mississippi & got a lesson from the last of the Bentonia blues men. I walked in the door and there was Jimmy Duck Holmes… …and two fellas from Dublin. I knew one of them. Couldn’t make it up… I had to trek to Mississippi to share a soulful musical moment with Dubs https://youtu.be/cxRWjHOheBs

Well bud, it’s a long way from the banks of the Blackwater River in West Tyrone to Queensland, Australia. No RTE here at all, can’t even get a signal – standing on one foot, tongue out, wan’ arm in the air… What time will you be over? I’ll have the kettle on.

Well Christy,
Ye can lower the periscope and stand up proud from behind the settee. I just finished watching Part 1 of your Journey on the telefís. Opened the floodgates of strong emotions. History of memories can do to a body, sometimes.
Looking forward to Part 2 tomorrow night, same time, same channel.
Good Night and thank you.

Epic journeys within a journey.
Thanks for the music that mirrors your integrity.
Delighted to be in my fifth decade of hearing your songs.
Your days in Northern England coincided with my major music discoveries too.So glad they did and that they continue still.

Hello Christy
Just watched the first part of your documentary and found it to be absolutely absorbing. It was a lovely honest portrayal of your life , your beliefs and your sucesses and flaws. Seeing the Marquee in Cork brought back happy memories for me and Wendy and we cant wait to see the second part tomorrow evening.
Well done….Well done ….well done

Hi Christy – waiting all Sunday for Journey on RTE one – but its not shown on RTE livestream.. what a pity! Do you think it will be broadcasted by Youtube or as a DVD? Just want to book tonight for Newcasle Co.Down in Septmeber and I’m looking very much forward to see and hear ou again.

Maryline, you’re a star! Thanks a million…patchy picture right now,but great sound.Anything’s a bonus for ‘Journey’ as I had nada until I saw your post and its all about music anyway…
Great reading of the success of th missionary work in England – and thanks to Hilary for a wonderful evocative summing up. And of course Adam the official tour photographer. Exciting times with films, CDs and all sorts. I know it can be a tense time for the artist but we have faith that it will be up there with the rest. Sure we’re coming into Championship season and time for the hard pulling. Keep well Christy.

Winter and Spring have been very busy. However I am not complaining. The recent English gigs could not have gone better. The album is finally mixed and ready for release. The Documentary goes out tonight and tomorrow. Filmed over 5 months it was a most enjoyable project I met some great people and worked with a great crew. Now that transmission is only hours away I feel apprehensive but also grateful that the work has been documented. Mark McLoughlin took the time to got behind the work. He shot over 40 hours and then had the unenviable task of stitching 2 hours together. Heres hoping all goes well.
Hi Christy
Hope you’re well after a successful trip on your missionary work in the South.Sounded like a great buzz.Fair play to all.
A lovely day here and Kris Drever’s latest album is sounding particularly mellow.
A few years ago ,Springsteen lamented that there’s ’57 channels and nothing on’…FEC has it right that there’s about 500 now, but getting RTE TV here is like mission impossible. But in c 12 hours time,I’m sure these pages will be bulging with ‘Journey’ news.I followed the production process via your updates here.I’m sure the films will do justice to the integrity that underpins the music. Can’t wait for the DVD,but the new LP will be first…I’m reminded of the ace song ‘Lily of the West’…
Hi Christy,
Congratulations on an epic UK tour… a lot of your songs relate to migration and for those of us who have left Ireland to work abroad, they are incredibly powerful. Even for those of us lucky enough to be in work -rather than under Charing Cross Bridge, the songs about emigration have a special resonance and I’m sure that comes across to you too on stage. So thank you for making the effort to come over to the UK to play It feeds the soul.
Looking forward to the new album and I’ll catch up with the doc when I can… SKY have 500 channels that no one warches but don’t carry RTE -what’s that about?
Best of luck with the Ireland gigs.
All best,
Feargal
