Hey Christy, love the new album. Last time I wrote on here I was looking for some guidance that I did the right thing in quitting my old band and you knew just what to say. Made me feel much better. Well, I am happy to say that after a two year absence I am back with my old band with one original member beside myself remaining and a great new lineup of other musicians as well. The band is Kilrush and we are getting ready for a very busy schedule as well as working on a new cd of mostly original material. It feels good to get behind a mic again ! Our website is http:www.kilrushband.com, I am the big bald fella on the left. Take care !

Re the comment from D and the response from Christy.
What difference does it make what other artists do or most cd’s contain 10 songs. No they dont. I’ve got loads of cd’s/albums that have 5 or 6 tracks and some that contain 15 – 20.
That is totally irrelevant.
The point I was making was that the re-recording of previously released material is a cop out when it is happening continuosly. Far too many tracks on Folk Tale have been recorded elsewhere. The ones on Listen are also unecessary. In Christy’s reply to you he even said they were ‘add ons’ Well thats ok then we’ll just put in a couple of fillers.
Bear in mind that I bought the Box Set knowing that different versions of old material was on there and could enjoy them for what they were. Same with compilations and live albums. You get exactly what you expect.
Christy’s output has always been about taking chances and experimenting with new material. Sometimes it dos’ent work but thats the beauty of a proper artist. Thats what he was all about.
My opinion, and thats all it is, is that a comfort zone has been reached. I’m disappointed but that wont stop me from listening with real anticipation in the future.
Let the music keep your spirit high!
Christy's reply
Den, there really is very little more to say….your points do have validity…obviously you listen differently then I do…we all have different ears, wants, favourite sounds and colours…some of us are tone deaf while others weep at the very subtleties underneath the surface….you are disappointed in the album but dont let it get you down…get out there a chase down some “proper artists” that will rescue you from your comfort zone….I hope you’ll come back again but if you dont…enjoy yourself wherever the search takes you..I’ll still rattle on as long as I can..I have some new songs coming on BUT also some new versions of old favourites that I simply can not wait to record again
Dear Christy, I’m very pleased that you’re back, was missing the site for the last weeks. First spring day here today with lovely sunshine … the snowdrops are coming up and the small birds sing when winter time is over … Very best wishes, Traudel

its nice to have this old bulletin board back up again…greetings to you and all our Toten Hosen fans
After I’ve seen you in Amsterdam on 11 October, it was once again a pleasure to be at your concert in Mullingar last Friday. Thanks for this. And you have a new fan, my girlfriend. See you again soon.
Hi Christy, had tickets to see you in Belfast in November past but couldn’t attend, was fuming at myself. Have you any other Belfast dates in the pipeline for 2012?
All the best

Howdy Sir, Glad the Site is back up. My New Album arrived from the Manufacturer’s in Garamanach yesterday. It looks and smell wonderful and it doesn’t sound bad either. Very very different to what has gone before but up the change. Love to Val and the lads. M

Dear Martin, “If talk of turf drives you crazy and you can face the bale of hay, make for Foleys work the top shelf, talk pucks pints and the GAA” these line of yours Martin ( from Casey) are among my favourites…I look forward to your new album
A message for Den, the two tracks you referred to John O Dreams and Rory is Gone are tracks 12 and 13 on the Listen album. A lot of artists today release albums with 10 tracks on them. Christy could have released the ‘Listen’ album with the tracks he had done for songs 1-10 and then you would have got your album of new material. Why complain about getting an extra couple of tracks that are re-workings of previously recorded material that are great songs??
Christy's reply
better to get it off his chest and let the air around it…I’d forgotten ,til I read you mail, that the last 3 tracks were added on
Hi Christy,
Never go anywhere around this country without some Christy CDs in the car. Love your music. I know an old friend of yours, Noel Bradshaw, over in Sierra Leone…I get to meet him now and then…..I don’t suppose there’s a chance of a gig in Lusaka in the near future??? Will have to wait till I’m back on the auld sod.
Keep her lit.
Christy's reply
greetings to all listeners in Zambia… if you drop over to Sierra Leone for a cup of cha tell Noel B that Laois are training hard for this years Leinster Championship….we look forward to the challenge in The Short Grass….The Jacks are all set for 2 in a row but they have a few fences to jump before then
Many, many thanks for the magical concert on Friday 24th in Mullingar. My brother in law Stuart and I are so thankful that you mentioned our Pauline and sang “Swans” in her memory. Declan’s guitar playing was amazing and you sang songs I have heard often but in a different way. Don’t worry about forgetting words – you are only human! Your manager and roadies were also so kind to me and Stuart – so give them another thank you from me. Am flying over to Leeds to hear you on April 1st – as that is where my brother in law works. Won’t be the same as sitting in the front row of a hotel room with a great chorus of singers in the background but looking forward to seeing you again!. Look after yourself!
Christy's reply
we read your letter before the gig and understood how emotional the gig mus have been for you…”One last Cold kiss” took on a special poignancy in Pauline’s memory
Just heard that my cousin has named her new baby Christy Moore. High praise indeed. Looking forward to the Easter Saturday gig in Liverpool – it will be the last day of a very long Lent so the spirits will be high.
Welcome back to the world wide web – you’ve been missed this last few weeks. Was good to see you on the Folk Awards – i hope you met up with somne pals from back in the day.Looking forward to the Derry gigs (not too long to wait now). See you on the Peace Bridge or square bashing in Ebrington Barracks. Keep well.

met a few quare hawks alright, a great time ….see you around The Walls
Just learned to sing ‘On Morecambe Bay’ with guitar accompaniment Christy. I’ve heard you do it a couple of times. Once at Hay Festival and again at the BBC Folk Awards. I like how you have reshaped Kevin Littlewood’s song without losing any of its integrity. Thanks, it’s the most powerful and beautiful song.
Christy's reply
Kevin was most generous in allowing me to shape the song to my own fit
Hi Christy,
As a big fan of yours I listened to your music a lot while driving many tough journeys within the last year to visit my very sick Mum in various hospitals. On the night she died in Dec ’11 your song “The time has come” came on within 5 minutes of me reaching my parents house to see did I have one last time to say Goodbye. I knew when this song came on that she had passed and it was her way of sending me the message that she had gone and that she had to go ( as the song says). I found this amazing . She also loved your music and knew how much I loved you too.I wanted to share this with you . I will never forget this.
Best Wishes to you Christy. I’m sure you have touched many hearts along your journey
