boiled eggs poached eggs fried eggs scrambled eggs sez Tuohy…but none so tasty as your goose egg laid gently down upon a pan of nicely melted streaky rashers. With fresh baked griddle-cake to the side, thickly spread with freshly churned country butter while the tea simmers gently upon the open hearth and I gently baste one of your darling Goose eggs in a nectar of rasher fat….pass me the cholestrol tablets please nurse
It`s your birthday! I`d like to send all the very best to you all the way from HH. I wish you to keep your positive energy so that you can go on making people happy with your music for many more years!
I was thinking of a birthday-present for you and had an idea:
quite a while ago I told you about postcards I wanted to take from a painting I made from “King Puck”. They are on the way and there are four different versions of the motive now. I`d really like to give one of the paintings to you as apresent.
If you are interested I could send or mail fotos of them, so you could have an idea what they´re like and whether you`d like to have one (Where would I send the fotos to then? Please give me a hint) In July this year I´ll be over in Ireland, maybe there would even be the chance to hand it out to you? It would be great pleasure to me. Now, have a really nice an easy day and enjoy a good pint. All the best again!!!
Hope you have a wonderful Birthday and have as much happiness as you give to us all. Go easy on the cake or you’ll have to put more air in the back wheel of the Honda 50.
Happy birthday Christy. We made white chocolate and raspberry cupcakes with cream cheese frosting as the children thought if you were a cake that is what you’d be. We will eat them heartily in your honour. Xx
Christy. Lá Breithe Shona dhuit and many happy returns of the day. Long may your sweet music roll on,,,another Bank Holiday weekend to celebrate your birthday…. lets make it a national holiday altogether !! H
Dear Christy, Happy Birthday from the deep of our hearts for all these years of honesty & strength, beauty & love.
CEAD MILE FAILTE in our life & good Health to You.
From your italian fans G., B., A.
We Love You.
Was willing you through the first quarter in Derry on Friday night but like our hurlers, you got ‘er lit and kept ‘er lit. Well Done The grandson Ryan enjoyed the gig so much he wants to see you both again soon but he will have to be seated further away from the sound system next time as his pacemaker started palpitating to the beat of Declan’s guitar. I was hoping there would be a shout for Gortatogart on the juke box but maybe the man himself will sing it when he performs at our Fleadh at end of July and maybe, if you’re at a loose end you could join him. Would that be brilliant or what? I was in Vicar Street for Haiti and it was a special night Have a Happy May Day birthday, Christy
Thanks Christy for a great night on Friday night, and thanks for the shout out for my daddy Lexie last night- he was delighted and said last night was a great show too. Cant wait to get back to another show so keep coming back to Derry! Happy birthday Christy, as we say in Derry ur a legend!

I wrote on your Guestbook some time ago to ask if you would do a performance at The Plough Arts Centre in Torrington. It’s a great, thriving, diverse venue here in North Devon. It would be marvellous if you were able to fit us in to your (next) touring schedule. Lots of people love your songs down here. Often heard in open mic sessions!
By the way, I recorded the songs that I informed you about and also made a 10 track CD called ‘The Rocky Road to Dublin’. I have credited the publishers as you said. So thank you.
‘On Morecambe Bay’ is just painfully beautiful and tragic’. It’s not on the CD but I am singing it out. I’m also reading a book by Hsiao-Hung Pai called ‘Chinese Whispers’ which throws a sharp light on the terrible exploitation of Chinese and other migrant workers in Britain. She went undercover as a migrant worker. We Irish have a story to tell too in this regard, don’t we?
I think it is painfully sad that there is no plaque with the names of the 23 cockle pickers who died. They appear to be ‘undocumented’ in death, as in life. I am aware of a small memorial garden at Hest Bay where most of their bodies were recovered. These workers were never so-called ‘illegal’. For me it is an obscenity to describe another person in this way.
Anyway, if it is possible for you to come to Torrington there’ll be a great welcome there for you, that’s for sure.
