Too much sun here in LA. This is one way of feeling a bit of rain….listening to an interesting moody tune: Green (Flying Over Ireland) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Henq9mTwCzE
Hi Christy. i was wondering was there any way you might be able to meet my 14 year old brother at your gis in cork saturday nite. he big fan of you and declen, he plays the electric guitar. Hes had a rough year, last september he had an operation to remove a brain tumour from near his pitutuary gland that was sucessful but it regrew after 7 weeks. in january he had 6 weeks of radiation we got results lately that it grew again but we have to wait 3 months to see if the radiation worked. Its called a craniapharyoma and its rare. if not maybe you could play honda 50 for him his name thomas.
thanks christy looking forward to the gig
fri 31 st circa 8…but be warned, this is a stand up gig and not for the fainthearted…last time we played it it was electric but no picnic…the crowd were gloriously mad as bats and we had a ball…it wont be a gig for reflective lengthy ballads of any nature…heads down, knobs to the right and lash out the hits…glorious…then again maybe it will be different in 2012..the country has changed a bit in 4 years..whatever way it goes we’ll go with it…hope you can sleep tonight
I have enjoyed listening to your music for a long time, I’m a great admirer, but I have yet to attend one of your concerts. Unfortunately I’m of minimum wage and so I can’t afford the usual ticket prices. I don’t know if I should be asking you or some agent or the people that arrange the concerts if it would be possible at some point in the future to have reduced prices? There are so many people that would really love to see you play live, but are not able to do so. Can you help or assist? Thank you for all the many years of beautiful music!
Yours sincerely,

Thank you for your comments, your Highness..greetings to you and all our Canadian Listeners
Hi Christy we are getting closer to beating the southern rugby teams, You had a close game and we nearly got the wallabies,Last game Ireland win and Wales win,Shine on Geraint .
Christy's reply
two close encounters…my heart went out to both teams who came so close to historic wins…two great encounters…such committed and sporting behaviour…give everything and embrace when the whisle blows…some other ball-game players could learn a lot from observing the spirit in which these games were played
There’s a new (old) photo of you on Face Book, from back in 2001 with Frank Harte, at the launch of his “My Name is Napoleon Bonaparte” album. Not sure if I can post web links here, But if you do FB, try searching for Diddly Eye Music Photography.
Frank was a gem and a gentleman, sorely missed.
Hi Christy, I’ve got tickets for your up coming gig in the Marque (which I cannot wait for!)and I was wondering if there is any way to request a song on your playlist for my husband. He (and I) are huge fans and we have had a tough year. My husband was diagnosed with advanced Non Hodgkins Lymphoma in November but thank God has just been told he is in remission. I know that listening to your music when he was in hospital was a huge encouragement for him..he loves all your songs, and I know a shout out from you would make his year. π He is very fond of Ordinary Man and The Voyage. π His name is Andrew. π No worries if a shout out isn’t possible, i’m sure they take up too much time but I just thought i’d ask..we just can’t wait to hear you soon!
Any confirmed shows for 2013? We are desperately trying to plan a trip around one!!!
Thanks for your help!
Christy's reply

Morra Spud..good to hear from you…its been a long time since we made that trip in the submarine…that Uranium gig in Lettermacaward is beginning to come back to me…I was starting to doubt it ever happened at all..that perhaps it had all been figment of my poor addled head…I have tickets for auld gigs going right back to 1966…how many will it take for you to lose those photos…mind you I have a few of you taken at a Fleadh Ceoil in Katmandu so you dont hold all the trump cards…Im not feeling the best tonight..the rhubarb is not agreeing with me
Hi Christy, Thank you for yet another dazzling performance tonight ! A great set with many, many highlights…..Missing You and Ordinary Man were both very powerful as was Biko Drum and Hiroshima Nagasaki….Faithful Departed (a noble call by Declan) was brilliant, and Matty really struck a chord with me this evening. We certainly nailed the DT’s thats for sure, the front row chorus line was in fine voice …LOL ! Come All You Dreamers had me plotting a November trip to Glasgow (to hell with austerity) Great finish with the Drunken Husband (for that young rapscallion from Killybegs) and Black is the Colour to end the proceedings (magic). Like the previous night the gig went by in a flash…. I was sat transfixed throughout…it just keeps getting better. Good company as well, Marty, Ger & Conor and of course Ger H….good to see the Boys from Killybegs along also. Great Vibe both nights I have to say, really appreciative and respectful crowd, superb sound and lighting (fair play to your trusty crew) Thanks for the shout and the ould handshake as well…. Look forward to seeing sometime soon. Love & Respect Martin Mac

we enjoyed ourselves in that beautiful place…could not have asked for more…thank you and all the listeners
Gathering from all of these comments I am missing some mighty fine concerts. I am hoping for September or October gigs as well, and check daily. Once I see a gig listed I will do everything I can to make sure I am at one of them. But I won’t book a ticket on the wings until I have a date. Everything depends on this, Christy…but no pressure. π I know there’s plenty of activities to enjoy but I simply can’t come to Ireland and NOT see a Christy Moore concert.
Well christy , you should come down to Wexford town for a gig
Christy's reply

Hi Christy, was it not Brian Calnan who was the original drummer in Moving Hearts, who was then replaced by Matt Kelleghan?….Be Well…RyanL
Christy's reply
you are spot on Ryan…Brian was our first drummer…Matt did sound in the original Hearts line up…then when Brian moved on Matt moved behind the “traps” … John Dunford did sound until Norman Verso took over at which time Jimmy Hickey was stage manager, Mr Clarke was Min for Transport and Davy Spillane was Laundry Officer ( for one day) John Masters was Guitar Tech for a while til he went up into the thatch and was not seen for 14 years…Terry O’Neill became spiritual advisor and Dr Taxi looked after catering and other essentials…the Merchandising Section evaporated during a London visit leaving behind a T Shirt mountain in a bed sitter in Kentish Town…
Dear Christy aged 67

Hi Christy, Like Martin my memories of that time in the early 80’s was of the protest being in the Fintown area, I cant remember where it was you played exactly (I was mid teens at the time) but I’m pretty sure it happened…the blackouts hadn’t quite kicked in for me at that stage LOL ! I do remember Freddie White being involved and active in the protest as well at the time. As for Brian Friel, a genius of a man…. I’m ashamed to say I am not more familiar with his work. Thanks again for the great gig last night, for the encores and for taking the time to visit the North West …we are truly honoured….(and who needs Daniel anyway) only kidding !!! See you later……Love & Respect Martin Mac
Christy's reply
Yes! Freddie was also there…its coming back a bit….Freddie’s band featured Jimmy Faulkner on guitar, Declan McNelis on bass and Matt Kelleghan on drums. Jimmy and Declan are both gone to The Heavenly Glen….Matt has been with the Ballyfermot Rock School for many years…he was also the original Drummer with Moving Hearts and did my solo sound from 1977-80…..no need for shame on Friel..his work comes around all the time and there will be plenty of opportunity for a young lad like yourself to catch it…Translations always gets me..I have seen 4 different productions and hope to catch it again sometime
