Hey Christy
We will be doing a tour of Southern Ireland which ends with our last night in Dublin (August 31st) You are playing at the Electric Picnic on that same day. Would you have any idea as to a time frame when you would be on stage? This would be the icing on the cake for my husband, who I would venture to say probably knows more Christy Moore songs than you do 🙂
Thanks for your time

I dont have details yet….we will be playing a couple of gigs around the country at that time which may tie in with your travel plans, keep an eye on the gig page….The Electric Picnic is a wonderful festival but might not suit all listeners…When I played there four yearsago we had an amazing experience but it was very much heads down, knobs to the right and everything turned up to 11
Sounds like Ryan L has hit the jackpot there. Will all be looking forward to the release of the new CD from Declan – maybe a new one from yourself to follow? I’ve really enjoyed the last few years with yourself and Declan and it will be strange for a while without him but it will work out. We were so lucky to have you up here in Derry for 4 nights this year. Hopefully will cross paths again before too long. Keep well.

its all go here in the jam factory..there are three different albums being cooked up at the moment but nothing emerging as a goer….as long as possible, there will be a next one
Hey Christy, just catching up on the chat and clocked Declan and yourself are taking a wee break from performing together in 2013. It’s a brave and exciting move. I’m so glad Declan’s record is coming out and I’ll be buying it. I also can’t wait to see you two perform together again in the future. But singers need to keep moving (like sharks!). And as a fan, I’m looking forward to what comes next. The next gig or song is always the most important. Good luck with the solo shows: I’ll be there. Let’s see where the ride takes us! Best wishes from Liverpool, Al
Christy's reply
sound Al…hope you are lashing out the good stuff across the water…its a grand soft summer herewith lovely sun between the showers….we have Lizzie here at the moment..shes up the road shakin hands all round her
Hello all, whilst rummaging through a large box of cassettes over the past two days I came upon a real nugget. It’s an RTE radio broadcast of a Declan Sinnott solo gig rec. live at the Lobby Bar Cork in 1996. Declan plays songs by singers as diverse as Tom Petty Frank Sinatra Ry Cooder and Paul Robeson. What makes this tape so special is that it is a master class in acoustic guitar playing over 11 songs. It was defiantly another magic night in the Lobby Bar. Be Well… RyanL
I’m a huge fan and I would love for you to visit Newfoundland, Canada. Alot of real fans over here and would love to listen to a night of awesome entertainment. Should really consider coming over for a visit.

fair enough Tuvaq…soon as we bring Sam to the Shortgrass I’ll be on the next boat for St John’s
hay christy
All good here, the Hookers heading to Galway today for the Volvo. We are really looking forward to it.
i need a little bit of advice…when it comes to singing on stage im fine but talking about the song or talking at all on stage.im petrefied..how do u do it christy?..and with nerves is it normal to have too much nerves?…do u have nerves before you go on stage?
thanks
redshoe
p.s. did you know you can train magpies to talk ?
Christy's reply
when I started out I was so nervous I could not even say hello, I said absolutely nothing, sang my songs and tried to hide behind the guitar…I always get nervous before a gig but I am used to it now..I do have coping mechanisms…some people do suffer from a surfeit of nervousness….I am more interested in training magpies to keep quiet
Hard to believe that Veronica is 16 years dead today. Her memory lives on thanks to her courage – and your song helps too of course. Article about her in Sunday’s Independent – let us remember !!
Christy.
Don’t encourage Hilary too much, you’d never know she could be the Kingdoms secret weapon as they travel the back door route.
They could destroy all of us on their tour !!!!!!!!!!.
Hope we can repeat the atmosphere in the Galway Tent———— and not a politician in sight.
Another brilliant ‘Chat’; did you ever consider putting Pen to Paper recalling all your Travels? deffo a best seller.

Thanks you very much to Hilary and Christy for posting Saturdays Marquee concert set list which I made myself and lost. 40 years of going to your gigs Christy I can now really see and appreciate how much hard work and love of songs and music goes into all you do. Saturday was just one more MAGIC NIGHT. RyanL
Christy, great to see Butterfly on your setlist. Really really hope it feels right for you to sing at the Glasgow Concert Hall in November. There’s a Muirhouse cup of tea and treacle scone in it for you!
Hi. Setlist from the tent up now on http://www.4711ers.org under Gigs,,,, it was a high energy gig,,, wonderful that all the Vita Cortex workers were seated on stage,,, Shine On. H

I am brand new to your site, but I love your music and I am making my first visit to Ireland in September (after 20 years of dreaming of it!). I saw in your last blog that you will be performing while I am going to be there, however the date is not listed in the Gigs section yet- It would make the trip perfect if I could see your live show!! My question is- will you be pre-selling tickets to the concert on the 28? Do you sell through your site, or will I need to contact the venue? Thanks again for the inspiration of your music!! Look forward to hopefully seeing you live!

Hello Christy,
Was at the Marquee last night, Been listening and following your musical journey since about 1972/3. We have both come along way since then! Loved the old classic Nancy Spain and also Four Strong Winds. I heard it on the radio too.! Beeswing was also magic or any other Richard Thomson song you choose to add to your huge collection. Saw from this page some mention of a gig in Dingle in August but not listed on your Events page…. Have to say that I prefer a quieter more intimate setting. It brings a different quality and flavour. But then in a large crowd like last night when you sing Lisdoonvarna or Joxer or Honda 50 something else happens that is also very special. Missed you at the Triskel. Booked out when I got to hear about it. Thank you for all the moments of pleasure you have brought us as a family as our 3 adult children are also fans and play a few tunes themselves. My husband, whose family came from West Clare has just reminded me that today is the day of the Fair in Spancil Hill. He loves a song called Wave up the Shore. I think its on The Well Below the Valley album. Probably not one you sing too often but maybe you will now that I have reminded you.

Eileen…its always good to hear from the “long haul” listeners…I dont get to do many gigs like last night in The Marquee…I enjoy the difference ..most gigs these days are in concert settings and I too prefer more intimate venues but these big one off gigs have their place, Declan and I have played this event every year since it began in 2004…in 3 weeks we do a stand up gig in a marquee in Galway and that will be very different again…listeners respond differently at stand ups…last night was a difficult gig for me but eventually I got the hang of the sound, got acclimatised once more to the big space and away we went…that song your husband likes was on an album I did in 1976..it was written by my brother Barry ( he also wrote City of Chicago) who gigs under the name Luka Bloom..thanks for your feedback
