Hello Christy,
About 6 weeks ago I loaded up the ipod with the box set,,first play in about 3years and I can’t stop listening..it is a fantastic collection of great songs and performances of same…
Just wondering Christy any chance of a second box set maybe with, Moving Hearts and
Planxty too… Stay well,,,, RyanL
Christy's reply
Indeed I have considered such a project but the sheer amount of legal work involved has always deterred me…the box you have took years to assemble and was gleaned from casual recordings that were previously unreleased and in my possession…all the Planxty and Hearts material is owned by various record labels…to my knowledge there are neither outakes nor rehearsal tapes in existence …….
Hi Christy, I’ve been a fan since i was knee high, I have just taken up playing the guitar and was wondering what your finger picking style is, I have listened to Little Musgrave so many times and just get taken away by the melody and i would love to give it a try.
Christy's reply
I dont use finger picking on Little Musgrave,I use a plectrum….I am not very good at describing finger picking…best get a teacher or try the internet..keep playing the songs…bring a bit of Antrim to Florida
Do you ever get to Maine in the United States? The Strand Theater in Rockland would be perfect for your music. Wonderful, appreciative listeners and fans of irish music up on the coast of Maine…Portland’s 1 Longfellow Square a good venue too. Enjoyed meeting and hearing u at theTeachers Club.
Christy's reply

Christy, ended up going to electric picnic couldn’t wait until you were back under the black mountain! First time down & had a great weekend! I was front row was fantastic. My dream is to meet you! Maybe one day
Christy's reply
My dream turned into a nightmare, no duty free in Knock
Having read some of the previous remarks I was curious and did a bit of investigation. It is because of lenient sentencing and “not being believed” that most victims do not come forward. So once again, thank you very much Christy for using that “one voice” to speak out because the traumatised and broken often cannot. #leg-end. Xx
Christy,,,
It has always been the way of the ballad singer to tell the stories to anyone who cared to listen..some listen some don’t and that’s all well and good….
Over many years I’ve heard you highlight the stories of Nuke power, H blocks, Travellers etc. and that’s why i’me still here..
.
Today is another horrible day for the Catholic church in Ireland,,your song Strangeways came to mind as I listened to the bishops trying to defend child abuse…Sickening
I’ve read the recent posts attacking you for speaking out about a sexual predator,,,just can’t believe what these people are thinking..I would be certain most peoples thoughts are with the victim….
The ballad singer is needed now more so than ever….Sing out Christy Moore…
Be well RyanL

Christy Moore.
I really hope you take the time to read this comment. You played a gig recently at electric picnic , and while doing so, you made a comment about a recent case made public by the media which some of the crowd may or may not have been aware of. I just want you to know that behind every case that is made public there is a lot of lies and innocent friends and family. What was a momentary comment to you, has had a huge impact, and a lot of hurt on these people, who really do not deserve it and are being left to pick up the pieces. I feel it was very wrong of you because you never stopped to think of ye bigger picture, or the backlash you may have caused. It was very unfair and unkind. Let’s hope you don’t have to experience what these people are goin tru because it is not easy in the slightest it’s life changing, and your little comment, has made it even harder.
Dear Christy,
Please forgive me this way of contacting you.
It took me almost a year to be able and write a massive thanks you for your songs and the comfort they brought (and still bring) to us. Last year we lost our son due to illness but during every treatment no matter how hard or painful he would always sing your song “Mother land” and there be peace in the valley this gave us but especially him the power and courage to keep fighting. We are originally from The Netherlands but we really feel that we found our spot here in Ireland (for the last 12 years) and although Erik was living in Holland he would come over whenever he could and the first thing he would ask if there was a new Cd from Christy moore. And on the day he passed away i asked him where we would meet again and his answer was at the hills of Tara and we would sing Mother land again. So thank you from the bottom of our hearts, for giving us the memories and the good times we where able to have with our son and your songs
Kindest regards
Ernst

Dear CM 67
The blue moon was a “praiseach”.An old woman (80) thought she was a ninja heading home and came down the hill and straight into us! I was singing johnny jump up and looking out the window and next thing bang! !!
Dad said Oh never again!
Then in the car park this old lad went to back into us with only half an inch left dad beeped!!! He was going to make a real Praiseach.
Then a lorry dropped a piece of wood off the back and it hit our tyre!
We saw the ninja woman again and thank God she kept on her own side of the road.
But she was almost bumping into the guy in front of her.
Im getting better maryline lights candles for good vibes..(what ever that is ). But bye bye blue moon .Lots of crazy stuff.
Christy's reply
thanks be that we dont have a blue moon every month. half the country would fail the NCT with bumps dinges and doors hanging off…..
