About the song ‘How Long’, I am hoping to get down to Barrowland next month, so I’ll be sure to remind you then.Myself and the other half are due our first babog in December, so all will depend on he/she being on time and not early. Hearing good reports about the hometown gig. Must be a great thrill to be back among neighbours. I hear Geezer signed up for another year, and another crack at it. Hope your keeping well.
Christy's reply
Tuohy is still peelin spuds on Tobelrone mountain..good luck with new babby…dont be taking any chances with gigs…first things first…Ryston was mighty…Johnny Doyle in the front row..
No prob Christy. Just passionate about the song and would love you to listen to it. I reckon its in the same category as “Magadelen Laundries”, “Never came home” or “Time has come”. I think this song’s time has also come!! I was an Altar Boy myself once and was one of the lucky ones – cant say the same for “Paddy” in the song unfortunately!!
Christy's reply
jasus bunker I used to love swingin that thurible…gettin the coals well fired up, a good lash of incense and then swing her to fuck…used to love fillin the gaff up with holy smoke and get all them auld sinners coughin and splutterin…the pp would give out shite and be moanin about the price of incense but there was no danger of him cuttin back on the altar wine
Dia duit Christy, hope all is well with you. Was just wondering if you have any Gigs lined up for the North in the near future? Had tickets to see you numerous time but something always comes up, heres hoping its 4th time luck. Massive fan and it would be an honour to see you live

Hi Christy, I am planning a trip to Ireland in Sept and early Oct 2013 and am hoping you may be playing some gigs at that time. Anywhere in Europe would do, it would be a happy accident if I could see you play.
Best of luck Christy. x
Christy's reply
Fae, nothing in place. However, I usually play in these months and ,if all goes
well, there will be gigs at this time.Greetings to all songsters above in Cairns
Christy just wondering, do you still play Viva La Quinta Brigada for Frank Ryan and the lads? I’d say I’ve watched the Borrowlands video about a thousand times, great version. Would love to hear it at the Dublin gigs over Christmas
Christy's reply
Dan, Quinte is included in almost every gig. It always reverberates in Barrowland where the chorus singers have no equal. Remind me in Dublin if I seem to be forgetting.
Hi Christy, Hope all is well with You & Yours… Looking forward to Sligo and to meeting up with the gaggle next weekend. Don’t think “Sam” will be making a guest appearance Hilary – but you never know…. LOL !!. In any event the Faithful Flock will be travelling from the Hills in their droves I’m sure. The dust once more has settled and it appears that normal service has been resumed within the County (Thank God)….different times from when last Donegal reached the promised land I can assure you. Talk of Scotland on the guestbook has gotten me all worked up as well (I know it doesn’t take much these days) LOL !……really looking forward to Edinburgh & Barrowlands, have my graduation ceremony a few days before at the Millenium Forum in Derry – then it’s off to celebrate with CM, DS & The 4711er’s in Bonny Scotland….It doesn’t get much better than this. CYA in Sligo !! Love & Respect Martin Mac
Christy's reply
Morra Marty, never having experienced Sam in the Shortgrass I can only imagine the effect.I do recall when Newbridge National School won the U14 Kildare Schools C’Ship and the cup was brought into our class by John Doyle (whos brother Miko played for Sarsfields and Kildare). Excitement rises as Sligo and Cavan draw near. Its one of the plus sides of limited gigging. In between times, anticipation mounts.Keep Coming Back.
Looking forward to seeing you at the Glasgow Royal Concert Hall on November 12th, 4 of us have front row (stalls) seats. I was at the Liverpool Philharmonic at Eastertime, thanks to you and Declan for a fantastic show.
I’ve introduced a few of my friends to your music, my friend in Liverpool attended her 1st concert and 2 other friends will enjoy their first Christy gig in November so keep up the great work.
Clare
Christy's reply
Clare, I appreciate you’re (successful) efforts to gather new listeners….come the RCH Glasgow we will be in overdrive. It is one of those special places where the audience creates an atmosphere that simply lightens our load .
Hi Christy, I just wanted to leave my regards after a long, long time. We toured Germany together in the mid 70ies with my band that time, Leinemann, where I played the bass. You played with Planxty and we had many great nights together, playing Billard after the shows. I hope, you come back to Germany soon and I would love to invite you, when you are in Hamburg. I own 3 Rock Clubs here, http://www.zwick4u.com and we still play a lot with my band, that I founded 1976, Rudolf Rock & die Schocker. I hope to see over here and see and hear you on stage! All the very best from your old friend Uli
Christy's reply
Hey Uli,…. You and me and Leinemann, Planxty, Magic from Poland and Champion Jack Dupree. That was a great tour. I think it was 1973. I remember you driving me in your BMW in search of the magic ingredient. No plans at the moment but see you next time in Hamburg.
Just wondering did you ever get a chance to listen to Jody Cahill’s CD. Looking forward to hearing your feedback – good or bad!!
Christy's reply
morra Bunker. it is in the workroom gradually making its way to the top…this morning I listened to a cd sent me in nov of last year. I cant do feedback. Except of course if I want to work on someones song. I certainly would never do bad feedback for who am I to judge anothers work. Its such a personal thing. Your opinion of Jody Cahill’s Work is just as valid as mine.
Hi Chirsty, Kevin and Aidan here.Hope you are well. Going to Ryston,we knew we wanted to be close to the front so we got there early for doors opening. It worked, we were in the 5th row. We were really enjoying the concert and then you mentioned us and sang `Smoke and Strong Whisky’ .It was just brilliant. Sorry we shocked you at the pervious concert we didn’t mean too! Thanks for a wonderful evening to Declan and yourself. Kevin (12) & Aidan(9)

Well Christy, hope you’re keeping well. The tickets have been booked since the spring and now the flights are in the bag too so I’m all set for the pilgrimage back to Barrowlands. Paul will be making his way down from Aberdeen again and Peter this time is only back from Algeria. We’ll meet up for an aul drink in Edinburgh around the Grassmarket on the Thursday night and wander across to Glasgow on Friday to see yourself and Declan. Last year was mighty, especially when you sang Spancil Hill on Paul’s suggestion. The atmosphere in that room that night was something I’ve never witnessed before. Looking forward to it now and I might try and catch you in Waterford at the end of this month too. Take it handy Christy.

I’ve been a big fan for many years since growing up in College Park in Newbridge.
I used to own a small Irish Bar here in Singapore and since those days have had a burning ambition to arrange a gig involving a great pal of mine from Cork Ken Cotter, yourself and Luka in Singapore.
I’ve not been back to Ireland for over 3years but hope to see you live on my next trip home.
My Singaporean wife loves the music too.

Hi Christy, Myself and my wife went to see yourself and Declan in Newbridge it was a great show.I am a lifelong fan.Born in 1976 and when I heard the good ship kangaroo as a kid somewhere in the 1980s i was hooked.I picked up a guitar and discovered all that music had to offer.I never let it down until I hit a bit of trouble along my life highway.I tried to get up and meet you at the gig but you were swamped.I just wanted to say to you that it was the music and the pictures and films that the songs produced got me through the hard times. So I know it sounds BIG TIME but you and your music actually saved my life and thanks.John

Hey,
This is a note to you Mr. Moore, not sure if it’s the right forum.
Some sad news unfortunately. I’ve seen that you have mentioned Eamonn Clinch, from The Beggarmen a couple of times in your writings.
He passed away on Tuesday, (02-Oct-12). He was my uncle and had often talked about the ‘old days’ and was very proud to known you, if only for a short while.
He surged through life in very much the same manner for the past 40-50 years, never leaving Manchester. I’m glad to say that although he never quit the drink, he never regretted a day and lived his life with a glint in his eye and a smile on his lips.
He was delighted to hear your thoughts on where the Gallaghers got their swagger!
Thanks for the kind words,
James Clinch, proud nephew.
