Hi Christy, I’m Harry. I’m nine and so excited for the stream tonight. I have been to three of your concerts and was meant to go a fourth but couldn’t because of Covid. I’m a big fan and my favourite one of your songs is Joxer. We used to do a thing in school called Funky Friday, it was on at big break on Friday. And we could do something like singing or dancing or anything. I always did your songs and people liked it, especially Joxer. But like everything it cant happen with Corona. Hope things will be normal again soon. From Harry
Christy's reply
OK Harry….see you Funky Friday…..Shine On You Diamond….I’m nearly 76 but you keep me feeling young !
How ya Christy! We’re all set here again for another great show, too warm for corned beef and cabbage but we’ll make do! Big celebrations tonight (30 years in the NYPD) with Cork, Mayo, Roscommon, Sligo and Donegal representing! Hopefully the next gig will be in person when we’re home in Ireland again…. Enjoy the show and take care.

Booked the tickets way back, it got cancelled, I moved on into another lockdown (is that number 6 or 7??) and all that that brings. Which is not a lot of course. Then, out of blue I get a reminder to say ya have a ticket to the rearranged gig at the weekend! What a fantastic surprise and I’m so looking forward to it! Could you do 3 or 4 hours Christy? Sure, we’ve nowhere else to be so I know where I’d rather be – dancing in the flickering light! Good luck!
Looking forward to your concert tonight Christy. And what a way to celebrate Bealtaine, the first day of summer in Ireland. Your fans everywhere love and appreciate all that you do and stand for and ‘So do I’ Watched a video of you and the wonderful wordsmith Wally Page singing his song. Fingers crossed you sing it tonight.
Hello Christy
Could you sing ‘St Brendans voyage’ for my son Dave and his wife Jessy listening in Sydney Australia. You played this at your show
in Vicar St as they were getting married the following week end in Killorglin Co. Kerry and we had a fantastic night.
Missing them so much
Thank you xx

Hi Christy, looking forward to tonight – dreaming of the Barrowland whenever it’s safe to do so. Hope you and the family are safe and well, all the best.
Christy, I am indeed left handed (hence the offer…)
I’m time zone confused so not sure if you’re rosin’ up the bow or whatever prior to concert – if not too late, I hope it’s a pearler & knock ‘em dead (in the nicest possible way).
I can still smell the peat from The Burren through the window of the hired Corolla when I drove through your wunnerful land.
I miss Ireland.
Give ‘em hell lad!
Hi Christy,
I hope you get this message before tonight. My 8 year old, Míceál bennett, wrote to you a few months ago and you replied. Can’t thank you enough. He’s actually written you five letters and I only posted one as I didn’t want him to seem obsessed – which he is! He knows every one of your songs but if you could mention him tonight he’d be blown away.
His favourite songs are mcalhatton, the contender, shine on you crazy diamond and Honda 50.
My brother is Jarlath burns, I think you know him? That’s Míceál’s claim to fame anyway “; ‘Christy Moore knows my uncle!’
Best of luck for tonight. Myself and my husband have seen you in concerts many times, the most recent being in Kildare last February , just before lockdown started. Our first wedding dance was to the voyage.
Thanks for being such a big part of our lives, without even knowing it.
Dearbhla bennett (burns),
Hi Christy and all,
Thank you Rory for your link.
Today’s my birthday should be feeling good, but just woke wishing the man I’d lived my adult life with was here to share this milestone. Later will have to be bright and cheery for the sake of my lovely family, but anyone who’s lost someone will know that silent screaming going on inside.
I’ll be fine and will totally indulge myself in tonight’s concert, but your link this morning Rory was so well timed for me, I hadn’t heard this track before, so thank you again.
What a miserable sod am I on this day we’ve all been looking forward to – it’s going to be great. Cheers all. Pam
Christy's reply
Hey Pam….you most certainly are not a “miserable sod”…..you honour us by sharing your sadness…all of us out here understand how you are feeling…we’ve all lost loved ones….its natural that you were feeling thus….I’ve got an hour to go before this gig starts..I’m very nervous, been doing gigs since 1966 but never with such gaps..never in empty rooms (‘tho I did play to 4 in Aberdeen once.. we had a great night !!! ) enjoy your Tobelrone and keep coming back
Dear Christy,
Large swathes of our world suffer with Mental Health issues.
For anyone who does, can i recommend Matt McGinn’s beautiful and hopeful song DARKEST BEFORE THE DAY.
I sent it to a couple of friends with mental health problems and they got a great deal of comfort and uplift from Matt’s brilliant song.
Rory
Christy's reply
its always a pleasure to hear Matt sing…..I love his work…..songs from a Mountain Man
Dear Christy,
Yesterday morning, as i drove out of Hawick it was snowing hard. April was playing her tricks , with a whiteout, before letting go for May.
On my CD player…me hat is frozen to my head, me body is like a lump of lead…..was the timely Cold Blow tune to match the freezing lambs shivvering in the fields beside me.
There is stirring yet lovely bodhran playing on that song, i hope the bicep repairs in time for your first truly live gig, it is a rare sight and sound.
Regards
Rory
Ps would be good to hear that tune again sometime
Christy's reply
the long-arm-bicep-rupture has settled down…a course of daily excercise has brought about a partial recovery…I learned recently that its a very common injury….Brian O’Driscoll played his final two years carrying this injury…..
tonight will be a good test..its my first gig since the 2020 Sept stream from NCH ..it was beginning to act up towards the end….I’m thinking I may pick up the Bodhrán tonight..if the going is good
Great to hear you again Christy miss the live gigs so much your brilliant as usual

Thanks for sharing Pam, never be sorry.
Christy’s music brings us together and lifts our collective chin up to meet the day.

Hello Christy,
All my very best wishes to you today. May the muse be bountiful and the Duende magical (they can’t really help it, can they).
Rebecca
Taks in tune, shoes polished, lights dimmed. Well wishes for the gig later. We’re with you every step of the way…
“And the renegades sing all the renegades songs…”

Hugs and hugs and hugs from me, Pam. I don’t think there’s anything self indulgent about feeling sad. It’s not something we choose, is it.
So sorry last message very self indulgent…….. forgot to say although you don’t need it all the best of luck for tonight Christy. Pam

Hello Mr. Moore & plenty more…
Having a break up north by the rainy Sunshine Coast- don’t care: everybody needs a break…
Love reading the news & banter & blarney & thoughtful anecdotes on these epistles.
Glad you’re up & about Christy – would give my right arm if I had an extra one to see you live
Good luck with it all & keep it coming
two right arms opens up endless possibilites provided you’re not left -handed
