Whallup Dave….slaving away here..no bank holidays when there is work to be done
Dear Christy, thank you ever so much for Last night‘s gig which my Scottish wife and I liked very much. We considered ourselves privileged to be able to watch you Play and sing. Wish I was back home in Derry“ sent shivers down my spine, as it has done since I first heard it decades ago. The duetts with your son and the wee hug afterwards were extra special too. I also enjoyed your new material and am looking forward to a new lp. Thank you very much again, stay healthy and confident . Hope to see you soon,Rainer
Christy's reply
Thanks Rainer…lovely to see mention of an LP again….I got a real retro feeling going on in my head this morning…working these days at the recording process…hope to have a single out over the Summer, an LP on late Autumn…best wishes to you both…ach aye the noo
Hi C & Andy. Thanks so much for that outstanding gig, to launch such strong material from the stage of NCH was awesome. Nobody would have minded a regular and safe setlist after such a gap in gigging, but no ! You generously shared new powerful songs and some older gems, solo and in duet in Andy. I was both enthralled & transported from start to finish, it would indeed be great to have it on DVD. In a way it was bitter sweet, as it underlined what we have been missing but also what good times are ahead, le Cunamh De. Take good care. Mile, mile buiochas to all involved, beir bua agus beannacht. H

Dear Christy,
What a pleasure to “be” at a gig again! Last night we were over the moon watching your Livestream from NCH and just now we did it again, that’s the good thing with an online gig!
Very many thanks to you, Andy, the Crew and all the people involved for this special treat!!!
Your choice of songs was stunning – Wandering Aongus, James Connolly and many other gems … and your stories about Songwriters very much appreciated. Also love your new songs, hopefully we’ll hear them more often now to get well acquainted.
MÍLE MAITH AGAT for this wonderful experience!

we all look forward to being together again…in Glengarriff or Gutersloh
Hi Christy
I well remember your gig at the Liverpool Phil which you referred to during last nights streamed gig
Thanks for a great gig.
I loved St Brendan & the DTs, the last one you sang for my little son way back at a gig in Southport: your support that night, if memory serves, was Sharon Shannon. What a great musician she is.
Would it be possible to send you one of my CDs?
Lawrence
Christy. I normally interact with you with my ears, but I went looking for some way to say thanks to you for last night. I only got to listen this morning – but you had me singing the DT chorus and had me in tears throughout as many nights over the years at gigs. Thank you from the bottom of my heart and keep strong and well and making such beautiful music.
Well, don’t disturb me now for a couple of hours. On my second viewing…. Though I am old with wandering…. So many wonderful moments… the choice of t-shirt..well done Val.. . the set list… Andy… the 35 or so who worked hand in glove to give us a great gig… I think by the time you got to the line ‘God kept a close eye on me’ you were well into it fella, and you had us all there in the NCH…. was there anyone sitting out front to draw your eyes or were you looking at us? You’re ringing that bell again, and the voice is booming! Talk again when I have taken it all in again and again. Sure a live gig is great, but thus stuff has great value too, ‘cos I can watch again and again and again….. If I might ask, what does the wedge number four mean? No matter, the crowd going catmelogin is grand for me…
Christy's reply
its a discreet way of giving a message to the monitor engineer….1 more vocal,2 less vocal, 3 more guitar, 4 less guitar.. 5 means collect your cards on the way out but I’ve never had to use that one yet
thanks for your feedback….right thru from The Auld Sheebeen to The National Concert Hall and a fair few in between
Hello Christy,
What a night! There’s nothing else like it, are you still glowing in the dark?
A new album and a Christy’s, favourite songs gig. Bring it on!
Been meaning to say for ages, you do a better English accent in Joxer than I can do. 50 years in Yorkshire… 😊

Beautiful Sunny morning in the middle of the Island. I’m still on a high after your wonderful Gig last night. Thank you so much Christy, I cannot imagine what it is like to perform in an empty hall and deliver like you did. Hopefully we will all be back in some Room soon.
Best regards.

it was pure priviledge Patsy….once I got a song or two under my belt I simply imagined ye all out there in front of me…ye might have been in Mohill, Manchester and Malaysia but I sensed you all out there in front of me….Míle maith agaibh go léir
Many thanks, Christy for giving us such a terrific gig last night. You made Saturday night feel very special. It was great to hear the new songs which were so beautiful and powerful. Brilliant too to see you joined by Andy.
Thank you too to all the other people involved in making the live streaming possible. You and your music play such an important part in so many people’s lives and last night’s gig has given me and many thousands of others such a wonderful boost. Thank you.
Christy's reply
there was a great team gathered around last night all working cohesively to make the gig happen….my own team.Paddy, Mick, David, John, Cian, the Film Production team on cameras sound and lighting, the NCH staff who prepped the wonderful Concert Hall, the Covid crew who checked us all and passed us fit…Andy and I had a good gig..one that we will always remember
and ,OF COURSE, all the great songwriters who have shared their work with me
All the way from Australia, you made my Sunday morning !
One of these days soon I’ll be wandering Ireland with your songs in my head. And hope to catch a gig in person. All the best you legend xx
Christy's reply
Scholastica….now theres a name I’ve not heard before….the double x suggests your gender but we gotta be careful these days…the slighest error can lead to horrid complications…happy wandering…happy dreamtime
Well played at the NCH and brilliant to see the Guestbook lighting up with praise and thanks. So well deserved…
In relation, I’m very grateful to Dietmar for his post – family work and answering a question I’ve had since visiting Berlin and being captivated by the ‘stumbling block’ name plates on pavements. A name , a date, a location of a Jewish person who was taken from a nearby home – taken to a concentration camp – never to return. Old and young are remembered in such a poignant way. I now know it’s part of the Stolpersteine Project. I’d tried unsuccessfully to find this info, so ‘vielen danke’ Dietmar and all linked to the project.I’ll be finding out more online and know that many others here will do the same.
Your music is powerful, Christy – sometimes in unpredictable ways, thankfully.
Enjoy the day – resting ,I hope – the post gig buzz is well deserved.

While the crew are gathered here in Dublin we have commenced recording an album of songs….what better day to start than Mayday
Oh Christy, you star! Not only did you give the Wandering Aengus I requested, for which many thanks, but you then capped it with the wonderful James Connolly. Absolutely sublime – as good as anything I’ve ever heard you sing.
You’ve referred to the smell of perfume and aftershave before and you obviously miss it. My biggest regret is that we couldn’t all have been with you, to scent the air and to yell for the encore you so richly deserved.
Big thanks, big hugs and big love.
Blanche xx

have to say Blanche that twas your request for Aonghus gave me the idea to open with it….twas a perfect “settler”
Hi Christy!
What more can I say? Thank you for another fabulous morning (3 am here when you started with Wondering Aonghus). I look forward to a studio recording of the new songs. And hope to see you real live soon in the southern part (where I have yet to visit) of 32-county Ireland.
Take care and stay safe.
Warmest regards,

Christy's reply
Hey there Siew Yen….always good to hear from The Far East..
Great, just great! Seeing you, and Andy, performing from NCH tonight was such a special treat. Listening to these old and new gems brought back memories and hopes… for live gigs to come 🎶
A special thanks to you for bringing forth „1942“ – as hard and powerful as a song can be, it got right under my skin. Well aware of my own country’s history, I am grateful for those songs that remind us of what happened amongst us, lest we forget. My wife and I have been working for the Stolperstein project to memorize all victims of Nazi terror individually, to honour those who suffered and were killed – to make our little world a humane place. Thank you for this song.
Looking forward to join you in many a chorus as soon as the pandemic retreats, already tried a new aftershave 🙂
Keep going! Dietmar

We send greetings to all involved in the SOLPERSTEIN PROJECT….Andy and I enjoyed our time in the National Concert Hall last night…twas good to get out and do some work…..Danke Dietmar….
Great performance Christy, your ability to carry without audience participation is amazing, felt like you were playing to a full house, can tell already some of the new songs will reside easily alongside all your other greats, my own personal favourites were The Holocaust
and the tribute to B Dylan
The dream now is Barrowlands next spring if God spares us🙏

Thank you for a wonderful concert tonight, Christy. Lovely to see Andy too. A perfect mix of new and old songs. Do you think it would be possible to release a DVD with this and last autumn’s concert from the NCH? I’m looking forward to the new album, and to listening to you in a concert hall soon. All the best, Anne
Christy's reply
thanks for the suggestion Anne…not my deparment but I’ll pass it on to the backroom personnel…they keep me locked away in the sweat shop…
In the absence of being able to see you at the Royal Festival Hall, my daughter came home for the second time to see you live streamed from Dublin, We enjoyed the show again, and great to hear the new songs. Here’s to the next concert, hopefully, live. Thanks, Christy
