Great gig at the Concert Hall last night. I have never before heard Viva La Quinta Brigada so well received. The crown we right into it. So appropriate for the day after Remembrance Sunday.
North and South of the River is one of the great peace songs.

Hi Christy, Hope tonight went well for Declan and yourself at the Concert Hall. Sorry I was unable to be there for the final leg… I must say though that I thoroughly enjoyed the two gigs that I did get (my own little mini tour) LOL !….. Edinburgh & Glasgow are two great cities, both full of charachter, colour and contrast. I felt the venues you graced on Thursday and Friday night were in some ways reflective of their own respective cities. One somewhat reserved and refined the other somewhat intense and in-your-face, both were wonderful, and both had their own unique energy. I had wondered what all the fuss had been about around the Barrowland gig, Thank You – now I know…. Mindblowing – It’s taken me a couple of days to settle back down and to digest all the goings-on that happened down the Barras the other night. What a great experience, what a great buzz, and lovely to see you enjoying it as much as we were…You were on fire from the off, Aside from Declan’s solo I don’t think you came up for air once…You were banging out the hits like there was no tomorrow…..The front row were in good shape too…plenty of energy and passion there also not to mention the hot and sweaty bits..LOL ! I can never recall a gig having flown by so quickly, and even though I felt totally satisfied at the end I still wanted more and more and more (must be the addict in me) can never get enough of a good thing…. Thanks also, It was lovely to hear the final encore “Take me home to Mayo” as it crowned a quite magical evening….Good to see all the crew and the 11er’s in fine form….. Safely back in the Hills for another while. See you soon I hope…Love & Respect Martin Mac

Hi Christy,
Thanks for a great night last night and a special thanks for singing ‘Depotees’. My girlfriends uncle really appreciated it, especially as it came as such a suprise. His words at the end were “I nearly done a Rod Stewart there”. This either means he was going to cry like at the football last Wednesday or he was going to start singing ‘Do ya think I’m Sexy’. Hope to see you again soon and many thanks again.
Christy
My wife & I are planning our first trip to Ireland some time in 2013. We would love to see you in performance. We are thinking about the first week of June.

… edinboro… the barras choir … the albert halls …(and concert hall to come)… all so beautifully different in their own way … but all with an energy and magic … just to thank you for all those poignant moments … the smile when you’ve nailed a song … the glances between you both … rotating in yr chair … deccy tapping away … the delight on people’s faces … the banter … a rich reminder of all too many songs tucked away in the oul grey matter (don’t know how u remember the words!) … the mix of humour / politics/ tenderness … ever more songs … and then i think of those still in reserve (dooneen/ crazy diamond/ cry like a man/ …) (or even voyage/ veronica/ sonny’s dream/ victor jara) … (…you really need a 5 hour set ;)) … but good to see you both relaxed and enjoying yrselves … so to the rch… (thankfully, the rugby is over for now!) …

Hiya Christy, what a weekend that was in Glasgow… Without a doubt the best I’ve ever seen of you and Declan at a gig. I can’t wait to see what 2013 has in store, I think that’s my travels done for this year. I had this short clip of your encore on my phone. What a ballroom the Barras is, Declan puts it well by saying a brilliant kip. Hope you enjoy the vid

Me and Mick were at Barrowland on Friday and loved it. Best concert of my life! We saw you at Newcastle in April but the atmosphere in Barrowland was electric. Loved Galtee Mountain Boy and Spancil Hill, infant loved everything. Hope you put a playlist on here soon so I can track down a couple of songs we haven’t got.

Attended the gig at the “Barra’s” and have to say it really was a fantastic night. As you said yourself- we were in fine voice. Can’t say what my highlight of the night was, so I’ll list a number of highlights! Biko drum, Back home in Derry, Joxer, Lisdoonvarna, Viva, No time for love all raised the roof, but the list could go on and on! Really enjoyed The boy from Tamlaghtduff and Spancill hill as well, as the famous hall fell silent- temporarily at least…
Just got to say thanks for a magic night. You had the old place creaking but it managed to hold out, Francis Hughes was mighty, No time for love rocking, lisdoonvarna crazy and Morecambe Bay was on the money. Have a great night in Stirling and the Concert hall and haste ye back.
Cant wait

wont get a much better review then that…Declan and I both love our work and feel very priviledged to gain an audience such as we are experiencing on this tour…we have both been on the road for over 40 years and we know what its like to do the long hard slog..thats why we appreciate our current gigs so much…thanks to the likes of yourself that will come out on these damp and dirty winter nights to raise the rafters with your participation and appreciation…Come All You Dreamers
