Over here in London and a life long fan…I met a fellow at work and his Dad is 70 in a few weeks and they are having a bash for him in Finsbury Park London 8n a coupleof weeks time. The Dad is also a big fan and he named his elest son after you Christy…would there be any chance once I have the date and times of his party and a contact number that you could give him a call to wish him a happy 70th that would be great for him. ..I know how busy you are. Take Care
Hello from Conamara. How have you been since?
A few years ago some wise guy decided to plant a windmill a few fields down.
She’s constantly looking in every single window..I’m flat out closing the curtains.
I noticed she’s a marker…if you sail south to the cliffs or north to An Clochán she guides you to port.
At night she has two red lights like cats eyes ..they guide you on land or sea.
Thon windmill has now become pretty useful .Its a big change from planning on putting dynamite under her.!
Friday night we had a launch in my school for a CD we made.Theres a new lad from Árainn with a set of Píobaí Uillin under him..what a great sound to have around us..
I’m learning a sean nós song a cousin gave me on crumpled up paper … my great x3 grandfather sang it and saved it in the locality ..they want me to sing it at the 100 year anniversary of his drowning next month ..no pressure like!.
I saw you wearing the Galway colors while having stew with Nava…that was good.
Any scéal there with you?

PS
My neighbour has aquired a donkey and he’s so proud .I don’t want to burst his bubble….but she’s looks so old she was probably the donkey that carried the blessed mother to Bethleham.!
Hi, wondering if the presale email will be sent again before tomorrow, or if anyone can please share the link here? Eagerly looking to get tickets for my Dad’s 80th next month. He’s a HUG fan – has been all over the country to see Christy – and I missed getting him Belfast tickets, thanks!
I have this lovely Irish lad as my fiancé who told me once about how he was playing pool in a place in Dun Laoghaire aged 14, when his favourite artist walked in and started playing pool right beside him and his friends. He was too shy to even say hello to you that day, but he hasn’t stopped loving your songs ever. In February this year, I finally had the opportunity to see you live in the pavilion and it was an amazing experience. We came all the way from the Netherlands just for your gig. Hopefully this new year we can come again and enjoy a night with you. Your songs wil be part of our wedding too as we declared ” the voyage” our theme ( with your approval 😉)
Thank you so much for bringing joy and tears through your music.
Hope it’s not too late to receive a pre sale link as I only signed up!! I need these tickets been wanting to see you live for years christy, had tickets during covid but it was cancelled unfortunately. Excited for this!!

Hi Christy ,
Looking forward to seeing you in Belfast on 3rd October.
Would love for you to play at my wedding in Lisbon but if you cant would be great to hear you sing your version of the Wild Colonial Boy.
Thanks Juno and team, got my pre-sale code this morning. Glad you got your pre sale code as well Christy. I hope I get a seat beside you….
A musical question for you. As a non musician I have no clue about arrangements of songs. Who plans intros and in-between verses. I am fascinated by the intro and inbetweeners on Cricklewood from Paddy on the Road. I hear strains of land of hope and glory, and rule Britannia. So were the session musicians taking the Jimmy riddle?
Christy's reply
Well spotted Pat…
I recorded Cricklewood (John B.Keane) back in 1968…It was my very first time in a recording studio…all the arrangements were written ( dots) by Steve Benbow…Steve was Dominic Behan’s go-to-man for arrangements…His background was jazz and he chose all the “Dads” who played on that recording…Denny Wright, Ike Isaacs, Ray Warleigh and othere were on the session because they were Steve’s buddies…I never heard of them before…I was very much a novice in the studio ..knowing nothing about the process or procedures…I was completely overawed by the fact that I was in a recording studio (Sound Techniques) in London… 6 songs were from my repertoire and the rest were Dominic’s choices…..whatever about the band “taking the piss”..we were all “on the piss”
53 years later, despite all its flaws, I have no regrets… it was a drink fuelled fun time….I got to know Dominic Behan without whom the album would not have happened,….. also I learned the way NOT to make albums… two years later that lesson bore fruit when I commenced work on my second album….with Donal Lunny, Andy Irvine, Liam O’Flynn on board and Bill leader at the dials I recorded the Prosperous album… that album changed our lives and still resounds today , 50 years after its release…..it was recorded on a reel to reel Revox tape recorder with two mikes…no overdubs or mixing…Bill Leader had wonderful sensitivity in the recording process and he encouraged and coaxed those performances from us in that cold , damp, atmospheric cellar in Prosperous, County Kildare ….
Could anyone send me a presale code please I’m begging! It’s for a birthday present for my 60 year old dad
