Hello Christy,
Thinking about singing, and doing it inwardly or outwardly. I think that maybe I’m always singing but sometimes it passes through my vocal chords. Good thing too, I’d drive everybody nuts if it was always outward.
Singers only hear themselves from the inside, until they hear a recording of themselves.
Lots of resonators in our heads too. Do you get that thing where you can hear something like a drone, maybe a sympathetic buzzing from somewhere in your head.
Thankyou for saying that thing about comradeship across the fields, hills, oceans. We’ll be in Salthill for the gig on 9th Sept. But maybe not before then. It’s been upsetting me that the gap is so long. Its the last year of the mortgage and the bank are being bastards. So thankyou for what you said. Love, friendship, comradeship across the miles.
Please be gentle and look after the voice and its carrier.
Hilary’s tweet worked a treat. Good marching!

As songsters grow old, singing becomes even more embedded in our psyche..at least that’s the way I’m feeling tonight..but tomorrow is another day… we’ll shake off the frost once more and boil the breakfast early
Hi Christy, the fishing season is nearly upon us,the grand slam looks like its all sorted, can,t see anyone beating you this year,we shall rise again from the flames,i hope, until then i will go up mandolin mountain see you along the way.
Christy's reply
you still stand proud…the best choristers in the world….teams come and go but the valleys always resound …..sing on Geraint …may your cast be straight and fruitful
Hi C. It’s mighty , but not at all surprising, that you are giving your time and support to the March tomorrow. Ireland is a wealthy country, we can do so much better, people deserve decent public services, we are a Republic after all ! People who can’t attend are being asked to tweet, I do hope this link works https://twitter.com/ireland/status/1626629339256061956?s=20 Beir bua agus beannacht. H
Dear Christy,
Here we sit with a nightcap, stevie ( taking tea with pinochet), jayo, antoinette and myself.
Jayo has your latest album spinning, and we all are talking of you.
Just a man, but what a man.
A poet, a storyteller, a celt, a human, a singer, and the love that we all have for you is overwhelming.
All round the world friends gather, families meet, people sit alone and they have your music in the hearts, they and we think of you and, to be frank, we ALL love you.
Rory
Christy's reply
we’re all in this together Rory….sometimes close by, sometimes across the fields, more times over the mountains, across the oceans….our comradeship secure
Dear Christy, I have a confession to make: I cannot sing. This is one of the frustrations of my life. There was no tradition of singers in my family, only the canary sang, and even he just tweeted . I feel it as a loss, I think singing makes you to feel free. When everyone sings along I have to sing within me and that’s pretty pathetic. So, if you ever see someone among your listeners just sitting there, maybe it’s a inside-singer. Best greethings

Keep singing inside Moeke….singing is healing, inside or out
Well Christy thanks for wonderful night last night in Mullingar you were in flying form long may you and the never ending tour roll on take care

Hi Christy, when I saw you are doing DiversityNOTDivision, the Sirens voice came to mind, it’s a powerful piece of writing. I’m coming home in August for the first time since mammy passed 14 years ago.In many ways I should have returned sooner but life has its ways of telling the mind “Next Year”. I’ve made contact with my dear friend James Clancy from Co Clare and offered my time to play his charity event at the Doolin Motorcycle Festival for Mariie’s Foundation, like Mammy , Marie , James’s wife passed from cancer. Its a gift to do what we love to do and although you’ve been told a million times , thank you , because you have encouraged me from the very first chord I learned, and because of that , I’m able to do the songs that have affected me , and give a dig out to those that need a little help. The podcast was lovely and probably not easy to reflect on the dark side of substance abuse, we are human not perfect and as a man said one night” the man that never made a mistake, never made anything “ took me along time to understand its true meaning, I hope you are all doing well and hopefully we meet on the road . Wally is missed and always acknowledge when I sing his songs, the silence from the media on his career in music was shameful, too fucking busy talking about a cow crossing the Nass dual carriage way or the price of spuds and cabbage, enough ramblin Doyler , love Fin

Hiya Christy,
It seems this new song about the Irish famine is hitting a raw nerve with debate today in Ireland. Joby says we reckons the Irish are well-placed to understand the plight of the refugees as the Irish were themselves refugees.. Potent words and song. Sometimes the voice of reason travels through song https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jVxK6Ob8oWA
Christy's reply
its always good to hear Joby sing ..thanks for sharing
Hi Christy,
One very excited wee boy is coming to see you tonight, thanks to Santie!
It’ll just be myself and Míceál making the trip to Mullingar tonight, as my husband’s cousin died suddenly and he’s sitting up at the wake.
My brother is up for election at tomorrow night’s GAA congress. I know you’re an admirer of his Christy, and the feeling is mutual. Only jarlath has other commitments over the next few days, he’d be snapping up my extra ticket!
But the fact remains, I have an extra ticket to tonight’s gig in Mullingar. If anyone would like to avail of it, I’ll have it with me tonight.
Christy, if you could possibly dedicate either ‘the voyage’ to my husband shane who can’t be with us tonight, or ‘lingo politico’ to Míceál, who knows every word, we’d be on cloud nine.
Tchfidh muid anocht thú, a chara!
Dearbhla.
Christy's reply
Hi Dearbhla…Thanks to You Both…Mícheá’s voice was ringing loud and clear in Mullingar…his backing greatly appreciated as I was a bit shaky on the night….condolences to Shane and family ….and good luck to Jarlath in all his endeavours
Hi Christy/all, little did I know when I posted the link to the song Liam performed at the Phil’ last week that it would take us down the road of so many memories and links to other songs and concerts. It reminds me of one of those domino displays you see on TV where you knock the first one down and before you know it all sorts of wonderful things are happening around you in all sorts of directions. I know its been said many times but its a great little community we have on here and your the glue that holds it together, heres to many more years of ‘solvant abuse’.

Hello Christy,
Thanks so much to Hilary for posting Musgrave from Whelan’s. It’s got to be in my top three. Such a treat to hear a different live recording, I sing it most days. The flow of it… Its one of those songs that unveils itself so beautifully as you travel through it.
Dear Christy,on saturday we ‘celebrate’ the 100th anniversary of the passing of Dinny Lacy in the Glen of Aherlow.
This incredible man was ‘the galtee mountain boy’, and so i hope you can add him to your set tonight.
Though i cannot be with you in person at Mullingar, nor can i hear any recording of your gig, i shall sit in my car tonight , as you take the stage, imagining his star being sung .
A man of courage, a song of emotion, a singer of singers.
