Hi Christy, seeing that we don’t think we’ll ever see you in Australia again we thought we had better come and see you. We (Jenny, Gerry, Pat and Helen) have booked into the Killarney concert on March 29th. It’s our last day in Ireland and my husband Gerry turns 65 that day and I couldn’t have thought of a better present for him than to be at a Christy concert. Looking foward to a great night,
Dear Christy, Mr. January Man! Níl a fhios agam conas is féidir liom buíochas a ghabháil leat go leor. I agus an spiorad mo mháthair Ursula Slob (married Reichling) – you kill me with this “January Man” Song, i honestly never heard before…..i cried, i cried at least 2 hours long, me and the ghost of my mom… it was such an honour, such a joy to see you at the 3rd of January finally in Gaillimh at the Aridlaun, with all thy ghost/the ghost around me…my souls pleasure, in memoriam mom. to be touched with the old songs, to be touched with a smile. Worthwile. Thank you more than words can say, Melanie

Hey Christy ,i have been told about you today at Frankfurt Airoport in Germany … A very nice Irish young Man told me to look for you and your music.. and i am sooooo delighted and i just fell in love with your music… Please tour Germany … Would love to come to your shows 🙂
ha ha, I hear ye on Gaybo, would love to know what performance he was referring too, classic schtuff… Been sent on a recording of a new tune from me aul gig last night, was a decent affair… https://soundcloud.com/r5rs/dylan-ruined
I’ve ruined
And been ruined
Thinkin’ is doin’
It does good and bad
I’ve been dwellin’
On every thought you might have had
Ye know less
Has turned a good man bad
I’ve said too much
And not enough
I’ve wondered if the words
Would sound better
In a letter
Written to be read by you
Aren’t you as cold as me
I said and reached for her
She tried to be clever
And just took my temperature
Said my love was a murderer
That my heart was a hollow grave
Begging to bury her
Now don’t be heard babe
Cause you’ve ruined
And been ruined
That’s not to say
It won’t go our way
My bag is packed and plane leaves tomorrow morning from Helsinki to Dublin – the main thing with of my journey is foremost to see your concert at tuesday. I’ve been waiting for this so many years. I hope you all the best, give us a reason to applause 🙂
Hi Christy, Looking forward to the gig with Declan on Wednesday next in Bord Gais Grand Canal Theatre. Myself, Rita and your No.1 Special Olympics fan Steve are really looking forward to it. If you get a chance maybe you could give Stevie a shout out (row C) or play a tune for him. He has Lisdoonvarna worn out on his Cd Player from last year. Thanks a mill for your time last year – he is still talking about it !

Gooday Christy, hope you’re well. Yourself and Dec kicked off the new year in style last Tuesday in Vicar St. I watched as people poured in from every corner, a woman on the balcony top painted the room in deep concentration, another slurped against a melting magnum ice cream, and yourself and Dec delivered the songs beautifully once more. Thanks goes to Hilary also who came to my rescue in securing a ticket. Catch you soon. Kevin.
Christy! So there I was battling with the sleeplessness when what do I hear on The Duke’s fine Vancouverian radio show?? It was a story of Amsterdam, the ganjeeee, the gargle and the fanny ticklers. My mind went to the bordellos and the shop windows, the bicycles and the sausages in vending machines. And then as my mind wakes up I hear the honey lullaby of Mr S singing Corinna Corinna. ‘I got a bird that whistles….’ Going to wake up them girleens . Better days are coming…xx
Ah, sorry for the -too many drinks- songs recently. I listened to them the next day. The timing (and memory, ha) was a bit too slow. I left the one you liked Christy. It was at least not too far gone. I deleted the others.
But I guess I’m just shy. Ha!
Sorry to hear about about renewed troubles in the North. I often side with the Republic and I like the harp on the flag. But music and peace, love and cooperation, now that is the way to go.
Goats and Flowers…..Now if that isnt the name of the next CM album…..I’ll stand on top of a podium in Killorglin……
Christy's reply
I recall being there 35 years ago…it was very late at night and horrors were in the vicinity…I looked up at King Puck with envy in my heart…he seemed so at peace…no doubt he was glad to get back to the mountain when all the lunatics had departed
Hey Christy,
I’ve been lucky enough to score myself a casual little house gig in an ocean side restaurant here called Slainte by the Pier owned by a nice young fellow from the auld sod named Jack Sixsmith. I got the gig cause I know a bunch of Canadian Maritime songs, but over the last 8 months, I’ve been exposed to a lot of Tradition as well as your own recordings and I’ve added a few of your tunes over the months and the regulars are enjoying them quite a bit. I hope this local boy can do em justice. Thanks for all of them!
Howya Christy,
Myself and he missus were at your concert last night in Vicar Street and I just want to thank yourself and Mr Synott for a great night and te say “FAIR PLAY TE YA’S” for donating all proceeds to the Peter Mc Verry trust. Lookin well for 67. ha
Keep er lit….

Hey Christy,
I too love the fact that we see new pictures from your Gallery everytime we have a wee look at your home page. I was just wondering when new photos are added to the Gallery are they the first photos we would see if we click on your Gallery section? I know the photo are not strictly your department but I thought you might know someone who would know. I wouldn’t want to miss seeing any of your online pics. I hope you are well. Take care, Steph : ) xox
Hi Christy, my partner and I attended your concert at The Vicar this evening – fantastic. While my partner David is a Dubliner and has seen you many times both in |Ireland and Australia, tonight was my first live experience. I love the social commentary of your songs – pretty cool. Being an Aussie, I have to admit that I could not understand all the words, however, I understood enough to appreciate each song.

For idle young men – or idle old men- may this be an inspiration for us all. It’s a wonderful true story. “The man who planted trees”

So on a lighter note a fun, comic song. God Bless.
