Hi Christy, how’s it going,
My dad tony was on his way to the fureys concert on Friday night when him and his friend were sadly knocked down at traffic lights near the train station in Belfast. He remains in intensive care with serious head injuries. Me and my dad are going to see you in the waterfront on the 20th March, as it is unlikely that he will have fully recovered would it be possible to dedicate “the goodship kangaroo” to him on the 20th of march where I will be hoping to be there with another family member.
Kind regards, Conor
Christy's reply
sorry to read about your Dad Conor….hopefully he will make a good recovery… if he cant make the March concert perhaps he might be able to come in May when there are a couple more gigs happening….

Thanks for a great communication, you’re sounding in great fettle.
I loved the One Night Only interview and your songs on it. Lo and behold if you didn’t announce that Lord Baker is your favourite song! I’ve rarely heard a more beautiful one.
Thanks for highlighting all the real issues – particularly the treatment of women by churchstate.
Wishing you continued fortitude, good health and peace all around.
Hi Christy,
What another wonderful chat, …. and aptly named too. Some really thought provoking comments beautifully crafted. Hope some of the ‘ classes’ will read …. and perhaps feel a little uncomfortable in their shoes.
I’m sure as we read we all take something different from it ……. I for one will take away what I now call your L S L comment on the missionaries . Love, Share,Learn. What a simple and powerful way to live our lives.
Good luck in the Studio…..It seems to me that the juices are already flowing.
Best regards,
Patsy

The “Lifers” documentary from Ruan Magan was transmitted on RTE1…….well worth a viewing
Hi. It was a treat to come home from work and see the notification of your chat pop up as soon as I turned on the PC…. but that was nothing compared to the sense of inspiration and empathy for humankind I got when reading your latest chat, I’ve now read it four times ! You articulate such awareness of society and the different dynamics at play, and your concern for what happens to women, in particular I find very moving,,,,,,thanks for sharing, long may you continue to inspire with your words and music. Best of luck in the studio and forthcoming gigs. Beir bua agus beannacht. H
Christy's reply
thanks for your feedback….to know that the “chats” are being received and read encourages me to continue…
Yet another wonderful chat Christy – so expressive and poetic. Like a symphony in its own right. Great to see Maryline’s reporting of Victor Jara’s widow too. Sad to see her sadness and the loneliness of old age too. Very apt tonight as spent a few hours sitting with an elderly lady in hospital. For all of the skullduggery, corruption and scandal we should also remind ourselves of the hard work and compassion shown by our nurses and carers too. No money could properly recompense them for what they have to deal with without enough of them to make it a bearable load. Hope you are well on the road to recovery. Looking forward to a couple of nights under the Black Mountain in March. Keep well – and keep singing.
Christy's reply
the nurses and carers in our society have the caring and compassionate spirit within them…they are not only taken for granted but also exploited…. hope you are well John and singing a few verses yourself
Hi Christy, just checking in to say Thanks for your latest Chat….you covered alot of ground (as usual) and left much to chew on. I am a singer and entertainer living in Perth Western Australia. There have been a large infux of KIWI and IRISH Migrants into the state. When we see irish people in the audience they call out for your songs, so therefore I thought I would do some research about your music and you as a person. I understand why you are well admired.
It’s about culture, heritage, history and messages…we as a Maori band also have the same value’s.
Would you consider coming to Perth at some time as we have commenced a promotions venture and I think that Irish people’s spiritual enhancement will be greatly advanced by your visit.
I hope I’m not too forward in asking
Much respect to you, your family and your music

Morra Sam…thank you sincerely for your invitation…your post revives memories I have of playing in both Perth and Fremantle. You also have reminded me of the wonderful traditional Maori welcome I received from your people when I first visited Auckland in 1985. It was a wonderful ceremony.Best Wishes to you and your band and greetings to all those of you playing and listening to music in WA.
