Hey there Christy! Yes I will be visiting and touring Ireland in March….leaving tomorrow in fact! Heading north from Dublin after St.Patrick’s day and would love to catch one of your shows in Belfast as it seems it would be the only chance I will have with my travel schedule. Certainly would love to know if any cancellations come up for 2 tickets for myself and my wife. Whom should I keep checking with as the dates get closer?
Christy's reply
can you post your request on the sister site…4711ers.org
Does anybody know whether there are any tickets left for the shows at the Waterfront in Belfast on the 20 or 21st of March?
Christy's reply
These dates are sold out but I have been asked to do another gig there on May 4th….if perchance you are visiting from Newfoundland in March let us know…sometimes there can be cancellations
The Kerry man has had his breakfast spoiled here this morning. Well done to the lily whites!

Hi Christy. Have been a fan of your music for a long time and hope to get to Newport to watch the concert. I watched the Barrowlands gig on the BBC late one night, a fantastic show, since I have tried to find the DVD but it seems to be sold out everywhere. Can you give me an idea if or when the DVD will be back in the shops. Many thanks Rob M

Christy's reply
The 6 nations started with a feast of Rugby but subsequently descended into a mud fest of churned up pitches, knock-ons and abandoned scrummages…whilst I must confess to enjoying the spectacle of the modern line-out I find the set scrums boring in the extreme…it was so much more of a spectacle when balls were put in straight by scrum-halves and hookers actually sought to strike and win the ball…it was always a matter for discussion as to how many balls were won against the head…these days I doubt if even the front rows themselves know whats going on…certainly the pundits ( including multi capped props and hookers) can never explain whats going down…the Referees seem just as puzzled as the rest of us…..the Irish Women have been performing very well of late, side stepping and swerving their way to the Championship…back in 1959 I was on our U15 team in Newbridge. Our trainer was Father Hegarty, aka Sniff, ( he also taught Latin). His rallying cry at training was “if there was a blonde in there you’d bind”. Once in Latin class he said to me. ” Christopher Moore, I killed a boy once, it was shocking, there was blood everywhere”…
hows things christy, any chance of ye visiting this neck of the woods, some lovely little irish venues here in Dubai….top man
Christy's reply
I’ve heard of Dubai dburke but I have no idea where it is..I did have a stop over in Muscat once when the 747 got low in juice on the way up to Australia…I’m not great with sand ever since it got in the sandwiches me poor mother made in Courtown in 1957…worked with Sisk and Wimpey for a while feedin the mixer but you probably know all the sand stories…then again I never say never…I have a cousin down there somewhere in the far east and he loves it…tell us more about Dubai and the lifestyle and work and those “lovely little Irish Venues”….you gotta give us more info to tempt us to travel
Good to see that John Ruddy, one of the Duffy’s Cut victims, will finally be laid to rest in his native Donegal soil tomorrow. Thank you Christy (and Wally) for bringing this story to my attention – it’s wonderful to see an element of rectifying a past wrong, though sad that the rest of the victims will remain on mile 59. Maybe the ghosts will be able to rest now.

Hello Christy and sincere thanks for your beautiful music!
May I introduce myself to you. My name is Maria Schejbal and I represent a Polish artistic association – Grodzki Theatre from Bielsko-Biala (www.teatrgrodzki.pl). We work with socially vulnerable people using art and theatre and also providing educational and vocational opportunities for them. I myself have been running an amateur theatre integration group, gathering mentally disabled, ex-drug addicts and deaf persons. At the moment we are working on a new performance which is based on “The Woman in the Dunes” by Abe Kobo. Our tradition is to have at the end of the show a song translated into sing language by our deaf actors. Last year Natalie Merchant granted us permission for her song “Motherland” to be used in the concluding scene of “Our dream journey” spectacle. You can see the result at: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dnE4ZQYDkxQ
We would be extremely happy to be able to use “The Voyage” sung by you in the final scene of our present show and maybe also “The Reel in the Flickering Light” (the main hero is obsessed with insects!) at the beginning if it is not too much to ask from you? Therefore we would like to ask your permission to use both songs in our modest performance which hopefully will make the life our actors brighter..
Best regards and a warm “Hello!” from our group, Maria
Looking forward to the gigs in Wales Christy, will meet up with old friends Hilary,Jan and Brian.

We’re really excited for your upcoming show in Belfast Waterfront 21st March. I’m not sure if it’s too early to ask but it’s my dads 60th birthday and I would really appreciate it if you could dedicate either Missing You or Little Honda 50 to John McAllister. His favourites. It would make his birthday.
