Hello Christy,
I found a cover of your song “ride on” on youtube, and I wanted you to listen it, ’cause even if the quality is not the best, it’s a beautiful interpretation, and it gives a lot of emotion. Please let me know what you think!
I hope I can come to Ireland to attend one of your gigs! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sWuGGh6Th1s
See a mention of a Kilkenny gig must keep the eye open for that.Keith Duggan(Irish Times) wrote about the state of football here in Kilkenny, after just one young lad turned up for Minor trials, so different to our days in the Shortgrass.

Mrs Crottys stands firmly across the street from me ….it a Pub and B&B , The National Bank is now an off licence , My brother is paired up with one of Tommy Peoples daughters so like yourself my lovely Nieces got to perform for Our fine President during the week so I am looking forward to Glaoch tonight ….A great day to be irish…..The sun splitting rocks in west clare today hopefully the clouds will give us a break for the parade.

Dont mind Paddy on the Road , I got my hands finally on a Lisdoonvarna Single £21 christy on ebay and me whore up the road wanted £10 postage pounds not euro!! and he only up the road …..had to be done Christy It will be Framed and go up on the wall of fame Beside The Boss and The Pecker Dunne , Bono will have to come down to make room. Happy Paddys Day Christy and like yourself Diago wont see my buck .

I like the sleeve of that single…I have not seen it for 20 years but I still remember it…Apple Tart always does it for me…you can assume I will go for the second slice..I worked in Kilrush for 2 weeks back in 1964..in The National Bank…I was “relief” cashier there !…I think lodged in the house of the renowned concertina player Mrs Crotty..a big house in the centre of town…would that be right ?
Heya, CM
The mountains are on fire (again) here and no sign of the hoped for rain. Not a good sign for the coming spring/summer.
Off to do the radio tomorrow–for once it is on the day itself! No green beer or plastic paddys allowed, but loads of great tunes, songs and poetry for the day that’s in it.
Patrick was a gentleman, he came from dacent people…

Hi Christy, Really enjoyed your concert last night in Tullow. Thrilled that my 18 year old son thought you were brilliant. He’s in a rock band but recognised the truth that speaks to all of us through live music. He said you were better than The Killers! Now that’s pretty good!
Christy's reply

Howya ! Everytime I listen to this I can imagine you singing it 🙂 Fantastic song with a strong story. Hope all good, love to you and yours x http://youtu.be/oQ6YBJdt_0o

Best of luck for your Tullow gig, was in Mount Wolseley some years back. Georgous spot overlooking the 18th down there. No doubt will be a cracking evening!! The Thai green curry comes highly recommended on room service!

Hi Christy,
Me and my partner are really looking forward to your gig on Wednesday night @ the Waterfront. My father bought us the tickets and sadly due to ill health wont be able to attend with us. Although he wont be there do you think there is any possibility you could kindly dedicate “Joxer goes to Stuttgart” to him. It will of course bring back some great childhood memories from when my father introduced this tune to me on a summers day somewhere on the road to carlingford. Would you also mind if i left a copy of your ‘Listen’ album backstage that you could maybe write a brief good health note and sign for him.
Christy's reply
thats grand Daithí, no problem…hope your Father is having a good day today
Hi there Christy. I’ll be visiting England and Scotland en route to Corsica in late August and would love to catch one of your gigs. Happy to travel to Ireland to do so. Do you have any idea where you might be at that time? Thanks David
Christy's reply
at the moment Dave, all I know is whats on the gig page…closer to the time there will be few Aug gigs..I hear rumour of something in Dublin but at the moment I dont have anything more definite…I have to keep myself relatively free on Sundays thru the Summer in case The Lilys getting a good run whereuon I may be called in for left-corner-back duty
Myself and the Good Lady leaving the north later with our three young girls for us to catch you in in Tullow later. Notice with dismay your gig is over 18s only. Our eldest Eva is 8 and is doing her grade 2 tin whistle with many of your tunes and covers. Been brought up with your spirit from a young age. Any exceptions to this rule?
What a lovely chat you had with the President;and an even more appropriate Song for the day that’s in it.
Well done.
I really, really would like to buy the Planxty 2004 dvd , this amazing concert. I seem not to be able to find it.
