Ah Christy, as I listened to a few tunes today, I got to thinking. I don’t know any other performer who can so accurately point a finger, sometimes two, at our society with a few short lines of song. Thanks be to you and all your wonderful songwriters for such succinct commentaries on our society such as:
All the sanctimonious pricks out there;
Or
I laugh a lot less and I’ll cry till It die;
Or
The local Christian said to me
You’ll lower the price of property….;
And dozens more….;
And an all-time favourite
I said a quiet prayer I wouldn’t bump into anybody from Kildare…😂😂
A wee question Christy. Have you another couple of Hail Marys handy? If so, could you throw them up there to the great snow God? I want a miracle….he has to get out of my corner of Germany. We are covered in a big blanket of snow, but I need the Düsseldorf Airport area clear tomorrow so Aer Lingus can do the job, and get me home for Vicar St on Friday night.

It was a wonderful night’s music at what I think is your spiritual home.Let the music keep our spirits high.Go raibh mile maith agst Christy
Hope your Gigs are going fine and you are managing to give some atmosphere to “Changes” from “The Box Set”, on your live shows.
It started with attempted Stings, vicious gossip that killed Christy my cat, TV Ads, Radio plays, and Magazine and Newspaper features. I only have emails and you belting out the good vibes on my CD player. My only crime is Truth-Telling and Orwellian Thoughtcrime. They want to control everything we do in this Prosumer Society.
Keep plugging on and spreading the good words!
Hugs,
Francis.
Hi Christy,
Thanks for your lovely reply……….To answer the question, there is talk of re-naming the GAA grounds. The marquee was purely “tongue in cheek” from me…….but then again everything is getting so commercialized, one never knows !!!!

Hello Christy and All,
Thankyou for all the lovely comments, we’re having a great time here in Dublin. The veggie stew at the Brazen Head is just as good as last year. Steve likes to cook. He spent the whole lunchtime, when his head wasn’t in the Guinness, trying to work out exactly what’s in it
Hi Christy,
Another brilliant night at HQ, got the impression you were getting hard to leave us !!!.
Lovely touch by you , in your acknowledgment of Johnny….. He’s the face of what is an excellent backstage crew who pull it all together , it must be so reassuring to have these guys at your back?
Lovely to meet the Boys from the Lee, suppose they will be soon shouting for the Blood and Bandage from “Super Valu” park!! What next…. Maybe “Christy Moore live from the Aldi Marquee “😀😀.
All the best on Thursday.
Ride on.

Four of us young fellas coming down from Belfast for tonight’s gig. My 4th time seeing you in the past 2 years. I saw you in Vicar street for the Focus Ireland gig last year. What a night. Really looking forward to getting back to such a great venue.
Would love if you could do an old planxty number for the lads coming down the M1. Would love to hear the Good Ship Kangaroo especially if you still sing it.

I still recall the first time I gigged in Galway back in1972….Planxty supported Donovan in The Hanger….Donal, Andy, Liam and Myself were finding our way..the reaction to the Band in Galway that night gave us a huge lift….
To be returning once again to The Hanger (aka Leisureland) is such a privilidge….Galway is a very different City 52 years on but it retains its Western Atlantic Spanish Connemara Corribean Magic…my vivid memories are from a different time..back with Mickey Finn, Corkey, Mick Lally, The Smalls, Bridie Hogan’s, The Cellar, The Harbour, The Castle, Teac Furbo, Cotter’s of inverin, Mate Lydon, Kenny’s Bookshop, The Rabbittes, we ferried it out to the Aran Islands, we clattered into The Poitín Still,…..getting out of Galway was always a tricky business……once or twice, gigs were missed entirely
So good to hear news of the wonderful Vicar Street gigs, wish I could come to every one!
Rebecca, if it is me you are thinking of, I’ve stayed in Francis Street a few times, but in the StayCity Aparthotel, which is just a little up the road from you, nearer the Thomas Street end. Francis Street is great for getting to Vicar Street in only a few minutes walk, you almost don’t need your coat! Enjoy your trip!
I love exploring The Liberties. The day after the 7th January gig I wandered along Gray Street and eventually down to and along the Grand Canal. (And, a bit further afield, the day before the gig I took the Dart to Killiney for my annual walk along the beach and the views of the bay and the Wicklow Mountains.)
All the best for the last two gigs of the current run.
Hello Christy,
Here we are, all safe in the warm embrace of Dublin. Looking forward with warm hearts to your gig tomorrow. It’s been in my mind for months. I’m wondering if we might be staying in the same place that Anne stayed in a couple of months ago. It’s a beautiful flat next door to Molly’s liquor store. The Liberty Belle is across the road and the WiFi menu includes O’Reilly’s auction house. Musgrave!!!
Some entertaining & eduficatin’ stuff on here lately Christy – it’s a marvel & a pleasure to take it in
You yourself seem to have lifted the end of year pall which seemed to hang about for a bit – glad to see you’re up & about & energised & motivated & bouncing like a rubber ball…
I won’t be in the audience come May/June when I hit the island but will keep on soaking up the music & feelings & let it all wash over me to my contentment …sending good wishes & generous thoughts to you & your cowboy gang
Continue on in love & kindness
Regards

There are many reasons why truth-tellers can be persecuted. Sometimes, people in power may feel threatened by the truth and may try to suppress it. Other times, people may not want to hear the truth because it conflicts with their beliefs or interests. In some cases, truth-tellers may be persecuted because they are seen as a threat to the status quo or to the established order of things.
According to a Psychology Today article, people who commit to total honesty in every situation are a rarity. Many of us lie to some degree, typically to avoid provoking conflict in relationships. “People don’t want to hear the unvarnished truth—we’re putting on weight, the new dress we bought looks terrible,” says Robert Feldman, a University of Massachusetts psychologist who studies deception. “So we learn that it’s appropriate to withhold the truth sometimes.” Truth tellers, however, are committed to honesty regardless of the social repercussions 1.

Sure, it’s got the depth to take it. Something very special about acapella, with beats or not.
