Good am C your singing in solidarity with the people of Gaza is uplifting in these terrible times.Your setlists over the weekend linked the genocide there with other struggles of oppressed people down the years and across the globe. There was of course a mix of songs, thanks for Matty. You are back on the road for sure with a busy schedule.Beir bua agus beannacht. H

The Medicins sans Frontier Gig was very well supported and raised 50,000 Euro towards their efforts in Gaza….a drop in the ocean of need ..it was a privilige to stand with MSF for a few hours and gain some insight into their work in Gaza and other conflict zones…it was awesome and humbling to hear about the courage and compassion shown by MSF as they seek to help the victims of this barbaric war upon the innocent
I call upon our Taoíseach to stay put this March….NO SHAMROCK FOR JOE BIDEN ….
Very taken with the ” In Palestine ” song…. sad news from the Holy Land …. every day unfortunately. That followed by Yellow Triangle struck true for us .
Many Gigs to come …see you up the road.

Thanks Marty…. I got a bit lost last night in Kingstown.. but the audience stuck with me and we got through together it in one piece
there’ll be savage crack in Letterkenny when all the ayrtons get together…played up there a few years back around rally time…thousands of petrol heads tearing around, arses touchin the tarmac
Evening, after some tickets for 20th of June in killarney .
Me and Adam from Manchester (thanks for the shout out at the waterfront in October) are coming from the donegal rally on Friday and driving back up the road to letterkenny after the gig would be much appreciated if someone could help us along with this crazy idea
Michael D Higgins and Christy Moore. Human beings.
What’s this about Woodstock – are you having us on?
Christy's reply
myself and Mickaleen were backstage at Woodstock from the Friday night ’til the following Tue morning..it was before we went into the politic business..it was all drugs and poetry back then…we had our fáinnes and white-stars-for-not-cursin (we left the pioneer pins at home so as we could get stuck into the hooch)…Mickaleen was in the middle of a poetry slam, I was givin a Bodhrán workshop when Richie Havens struck up the Song of Wandering Aonghus and we fell into each others arms in floods of homesick tears… Ochón is Ochón we keened until Jimi Hendrix led us to the Hari Krishna tent for a blast of meditation and lentil soup
Hello Christy,
Wow! I know now how important this is to you. Do you need someone to try to write a book?
No worries either way. I’m used to people saying no. I’m also getting pretty sensible these days… you never know, I might even think that you’re a person..

no thank you…the book is well under way….435 pages so far and thats just Chapter 1…..I am not a person…my middle name is Fast Forward
Ohh C, such perfect memories of the first Lisdoon Festival, I was there, I could n’t believe it, such freedom, big crowds but no hassle, carefree days !! More recent memories from last night stil resounding ,some buzz also. Beir bua agus beanncht.H

no hassle ( apart from the Branch) but dreadful hangovers
” To the Town of Lisdoonvarna came a squad car one fine day”
Thats a great post…
I remember it like it was last week…
a sea of young faces at dusk in a beautiful North Clare Vale surround by rocky crags, yellow furze and curious milk cows..
it was organised by Paddy Doherty and Jim Shannon
I sang;
The Ballad of James Larkin
James Connolly
The Raggle Taggle Gypsy
Lanigan’s Ball
The Curragh of Kildare
Follow Me Up To Carlow
Sacco & Vanzetti
Only our Rivers run Free
The Crack was 90
The Ballad of Tim Evans
Johnny Jump
The Galtee Mountain Boy
Th Trip to Jerusalem
The Foxy Devil
Joe McCann
The Boys of Barr na Sráide
Morrissey & The Russian Sailor
St Patrick was a Gentleman
That same Summer I played The Ballisodare Festival run by the late Kevin Flynn of Collooney & Kilburn…
Nothing exists now that has the ethos, the crack, the run on a hope & prayer buzz that created those magic events…the beauty, fun, exileration, innocence, DIY, ingenuity,…
I’m remembering Skippy, The Sheriff, Tommy McGann, 8 in a 2 man non binary tent, no mobile coverage, call box occupied by honeymooners, a million disposable Guiness ,Smithwick and Harp Bottles, Health & Safetyless, the occasional £5 deal, front loaded joints and gallons of Bulmers, the odd Bottle of Poitín, a Massage Parlour in a Horse Box with Special Branch Security, BP Fallon with a Camomille Tea Bag, Emmy Lou Harris carried thru the mud lest she soil her outfit, Seamus Ennis stealing the show…
this is getting too emotional for me…I need a rasher sandwich
Hi Christy,
What a privilege it was to be part of a really special night in HQ.
An emotional start exposing the real facts of the madness in Gaza.
The respect shown by the audience to “ how long” was something special.
A brilliant set list, when I closed my eyes it easy to imagine being by the banks of the Clyde.
Thanks Christy.

what a mouth watering prospect….I’m very disappointed to miss this gathering…I’ve great memories from singing in Windgap one Winters Night in 1964….by the time the load of us got back to Cluan Meala we were all snoring in the back of the Bedford Van….hi to Matt McGinn
Hi Christy, I hope you have a great gig tonight. I’ll be thinking of you, the crew, the songs and love in the room. The audience will uplift you I’m sure , 🙏🎶🙏 love Fin

we shook the spiders off the rafters last night…the starlings could not get a wink…the mice were dancing polkas under the stage….there was a woman on the Balcony in need of smelling salts….a plain clothes Jesuit tried to administer her Extreme Unction but she tried to get up on the poor man….
“is that a crucifix in your pocket or are you just very happy to see me” she uttered to Fr Mick before swooning into ballad induced ecstacy
the gig was a great success and Peter Aiken of Aiken Promotions presented 50,000 Euro to Medicenes Sans Frontier towards their work in Gaza
I hope your gig is a cracker today. And that lots of money gets sent to the doctors.

I first heard Richie Havens sing this version ….words by Yeats music by Judy Collins….Richie was a hum dinger..heard him twice .first at Woodstock and 40 years later in Dublin…always on the run
Best of luck with tonight’s gig Christy.. I’m thinking of the children of Gaza whose cause you dedicated a fundraising gig in 2014 to, many of whom are now adults..some possibly no longer with us.. No doubting your contribution makes a significant impact on those who need it most.. let the music keep their spirits high..fair play..

Hello all,
There Will Be Blood.
Now there’s a film.
Danny should have gotten two Oscars for that one.
They should have renamed it The Daniel afterwards.
And no actor should get even a nomination until they
reach that kind of standard.
Who from back in the day would be worthy of one ?
John Wayne in The Searchers
Bogart in Sierra Madre
Fonda in The Grapes
Newman in The Hustler
DeNiro In Taxi Driver
Jack Nicholson in more than one in fairness …
Gabriel Byrne in Miller’s Crossing
And the list goes on and on …
Peace and Love

Anyway, here something to remind you of how annoying we can be. I recorded this on my sofa the other day.
