Christy's reply

Thank you for a wonderful night as always last night at the Waterfront. I think my dad nearly fell of his chair when you wished him a happy birthday. It meant so much to him. He asked that I get in touch to let you know how much he appreciated it. He cannot thank you enough. You are a living legend Christy.
Home safely after a trek through the snows of Glenshane, but well worth it for 2 wonderful nights in the Waterfront. Thought you and Declan were in great form. Don’t know what gig Scallio was at but definitely plenty of singing along where i was – from that little chap on Wednesday to some of a slightly older vintage. Loved the Burning Times in memory of Rachel Corrie – let us never forget the great sacrifice some make for others. Great thanks to all of your crew who make it all such a wonderful experience. Looking forward to the Dalai Lama – i wonder will he be giving us a verse or two of Lisdoon 🙂
Christy, i was at your gig last night in the Waterfront hall with my wife, it was my first time seeing you live and without a shadow of a doubt you and Declan Sinnot did not disappoint, thankyou for a super evening. Slan.
Christy's reply
Thanks for your feedback Con . Declan and I had a good time beneath The Black Mountain. We feel like we’re getting the hang of it, the first 40 years were the hardest..
Just home from another fantastic gig! Thanks so much for playing your song dedicated to Rachel Corrie – always good to keep people aware of her story!
Have you ever heard Jim Page’s “Inside I’m dancing” about Rachel Corrie – check it out!
I think you forgot your shovel tonight for the first time in a while!
Christy's reply
I know Jim’s song..he is a true frontline man, always was and always will..thank you for suggesting Burning Times…last night was our first time to do it in over a year..written by Charlie Murphy from California, it is a great song
Christy another great gig thanks for playing that request for my brother very much appreciated by all the family. See you back in May once again many thanks Peter
Hi Christy! Hope tonight’s show went well. Was meant to be there but the blood sugar levels went a bit crazy on the way to the hotel earlier and I had to cancel my plans to be there. Having to make do with watching one of your DVDs instead.
Christy's reply
sorry to hear that…did someone else use your ticket ?…if not, perhaps you might like to use it for a future gig..let us know
Interesting convo between yourself and Scallio12 regarding noise. There are so many different venues which the listener can attend depending on what they are looking for. I’ve had a riot at Barrowlands and heard a pin drop at the Barbican. Sadly it’s not the noise or the singing (the exception being at Brighton where I swear the lady was squeezing a cat under her blouse) that is the problem. It is the injection of alcohol into that particular recipe which makes for a burnt offering. To this day still thank the Lord that I survived Mullingar festival relatively scar free. But hey ho Christy can’t say I haven’t been off the head making a tit of meself. Xx
see you tonite.Spoke to you last time in waterfront . PD club atown 40 years, old, we had a few words in club when you popped in with tc many years ago..Have a commemorative PD Tee shirt for you with mr tonite.
Thanks for the songs
Jim Clarke

heard that The Wing played powerful music in The Royal Spa…I still remember Stocktons Wing when they first “came to Dublin”..they fairly rattled the rafters with their high energy music.Last time I heard them live was when we toured Australia together 20 years ago. The Wing,The Dubliners, and a host of others, we toured Australia with a travelling Irish Music Festival. I will never forget Barney McKenna asking an Australian Airlines air hostess “excuse me Miss, would you ever get me a pint of Guinness and 20 Sweet Afton”
Yes mate noticed them, maybe it was them that put a damper on the night Many thanks for reply….still a true fan 🙂 maybe I went a bit over board with the first message,or maybe it’s because I was 1 of the three men hahaha only joking,or am I ??? Lol
Christy's reply
Been on to the Waterfont this morning. Seemingly the staff there responded to numerous complaints from members of the audience…listeners disturbed by three boistrous buachaills happily quaffing a bottle of whiskey oblivious to the nuisance they were making to those around them…it never dawned on me that you might have been one of them…seemingly one lad was asked to leave…he surely would not have been aware of the great audience participation….gonna have a kip now and then get ready to have another crack at it tonight…Ride On Scallio..over and out
