Lá breithe shona duit C. At just 10 mins after midnight Fiachna on RTE Radio 1 wished you a Happy Birthday and played Good Ship Kangaroo. Johnny Boy and then Jim Page singing Palestine, telling the world how you had sang it on Vicar St at the Benefit Gig for MSF. I have made a donation to MSF in your honour, there is much talk of the 4711er family here I humbly urge others to do the same or light a candle for Peace in the region, or whatever people wish. Go maire tú an céad. Three gigs in NCH for your Birthday Month !! Beir bua agus beannacht. H
Hi Christy, herzlichen Glückwunsch and all the best to your birthday! I hope that your songs and gigs keep you young 😊.
I try to play/sing a few of your songs to celebrate you here in Germany🎸.
It’s great to read that you’re about to have a new album out! You have quite a few new songs I’m looking forward to be recorded and I’m curious which of these make it on the new album.
Have a great day and most important of all: Stay healthy!
Birgit
Happy Birthday Christy one step away from a round birthday but enjoy this one first thanks for all the years of music song and joy and inspiration long may it continue

have you tried the new sliothar ? I scored two points from puckouts ( agin the wind) last Sunday in the Kildare veterans hurling jamboree….the Bishop threw in the ball and later threw up his dinner….it was a dirty day as we togged off in the bushes…we started after 11 mass with 16 teams ….we were down to the last two and the final was played after Devotions..there was a bit of a schimozzel when two of our lads had to go home to milk.. we adjourned to The Rising Sun in Brownstown and completed the game at dawn the following Morning just as the early gallops were starting across the Plains….Johnny Murtagh was riding hard over near Moore’s Bridge and gave me a good tip for the next Curragh meeting…I’ll give you the nod closer to the day..we dont want to feck the odds
Hi Christy, we have a tradition of kissing the birthday boy three times, so here we go 😘😘😘 Happy Birthday Christy!
Being a woman, I’m supposed to be curieus, so I have a question. I’m wondering what you mean with 4711er. The only 4711 I know is eau de cologne but I don’t think that it will be correct. If it’s none of my business, sorry for asking..from Belgium with love…
Christy's reply
its all our business Moeke..everyone who visits this site regularly becomes a 4711er….same with with thosewho attend gigs regularly..
I came on line one day years ago…I noticed that visitor number 4711 had logged in that morning…a secret organisation was formed…very few realise that they are cherished members
My Grandmother was Ellie Sheeran( from the Cottonmills nr Yellow Furze nr Navan) …Ellie Married Jack Power from Hayestown (nr The Cottonmills)….Ellie had a weakness for 4711 Eau de Cologne..she would not leave the house without dabbing herself allover ….since boyhood I’ve loved a waft of 4711…
in 5 minutes time I will arrive at my 79th year..I’ll celebrate by dabbing a few drops wherever they might land…..
I loved them both dearly..Jack & Ellie..we always called them Goggie & Gogga…They lie at rest in Navan Graveyard with their Son Jimmy…nearby lies Jack’s beautiful Sister, our Grand- Auntie Annie, She married Jem Gibney and settled in Stackallen where my two second cousins still dwell…..

Saw you at the Glór in Ennis on Saturday with my parents. We’re from Pennsylvania but staying in Mayo for the month. This was a bucket list show for us and it lived up to the hype and then some. We sat front and center and enjoyed all the classics. You even played my mom’s request “The Voyage” and mine “Joxer Goes to Stuttgart”. The best concert experience we’ve ever had. Can’t wait to see you again. The world is a better place having you lend your strong voice to those without one. Reading about your journey to sobriety was also a help to me to quit drinking last month and my life is so much better without it. Thank you for that. We love ya, Christy!
Christy's reply
I still remember the sound of your Mother’s voice when calling for “The Voyage”
Hope you all have a happy time in Mayo..its a great county …
well done with putting down the bottle….I wish you contented sobriety, peace of mind, good health and plenty of Craic
