Mark seems to have that effect on his Companeros..reminds me of the session with Liam Óg, Arty, Sean Keane, Coo na mBan when they made that beautoful video together…I’d link it herei if I knew how
Rebecca i am not sure we all realise how very lucky we are to hear from christy at all.
Christy is still hugely popular and busy and i doubt others of his ilk give any replies to anything online….eg i have been trying hard but patiently over 6 months to get an answer from a small ‘pop star’ about a gig without luck , let us not bite the hand that feeds.

Bob Dylan turns 83,a few days after Martin Carthy…about 60 years ago, their paths first crossed in London folk clubs.Martin already cutting his reputation there,Bob soon to follow…
Online, there are some great stories about their brief, productive time in London…Martin was also responsible for influencing Paul Simon…what a CV
My music life is hard to imagine without all three…add the good fortune to have discovered your songs many moons ago and I’m a happy chap…
Hya Christy.
Thanks to Patsy for his early morning post with the Tonight recording. Inspirational start to the day.
This evening I got a chance to watch my recording of the show, and I made a personal recording of your part Christy, with a couple of edits.
I hope you don’t mind me posting it here
Living in Germany, there is sadly a different perspective on the war. Sadly a number of Germans, and their media seem to be historically trapped. Thanks to the likes of yourself Christy and programmes like that, I can get an accurate perspective.
So my wee video is my new conversation starter.
Flawless performance last night, Christy. What struck me after listening to the panel give their opinions is that a song has the power to encapsulate the facts and deliver a more powerful message than any discussion or opinion. Jim Page can fairly nail them down..
Thank you, Christy, for your moving performance of Jim Page’s powerful song Palestine on the Tonight show. It was good to see it on TV, and with a fair-handed introduction. I’m looking forward to hearing it again at the NCH on Saturday. (I managed to watch the programme on catch-up using a VPN.)
That was a lovely performance tonight. A very moving song.
It’s so weird that life continues as normal while some people are being pulverised. I look at events in the past and think “How could the world have let that happen?”. It’s happening again 😞
Best wishes, Kevin

Yes Dave, Bob’s 83 today.
You mention Paul Simon. It’s said that Martin Carthy gave Paul ‘Scarborough Fair’, as per that cliche; the rest was history.
its all rumour and lies….every one knows it was Barney McKenna
Has anyone else noticed that a huge part of the guestbook is missing right now?
