Hello Christy,
Just sitting surrounded by guitar, pics, chords, words, capos, tuner, cable for tuner, bag of various other guitars things. Spending as much time as I can building building building. Smoke and Srong Whiskey, Rosalita. I’m going to be so pleased when I can stick it all together. No probs with separating and combining voice and guitar. My main problem right now is smooth, accurate movement from chord to chord. Lots of practice. It’s getting better.
Dave, sorry to hear about your altercation with the skinheads. Your weren’t wearing a dab of Patchouli oil behind each ear by any chance, if so that was probably your downfall, the skins were like blood hounds when it came to the old ‘hippy oil’ and were probably on your scent before you left the house.

Christy i must say that i was sorry to hear that Dave took a kicking but i am sure he had the last laugh.
I miss popping down to Manchester for a slice of toast and a cuppa with Dave after a rummage among some old record store, i wonder if he has purchased any skinhead stomp records recently to gain moral revenge, as i recall my brother shooting some disco 45s with his air gun against the back fence at home in our teens.
Anyway, enough violence.
On a more musical note, a friend from South Derry says that the Belfast gig was the best he had seen, sounds fabulous.
I am heading to the Dutch coast for a long weekend with ‘er indoors this weekend as she had lived and worked there once. Hoping that i have a more sedate time than the lads who had the infamous weekend in Amsterdam,. Just a book, some CDs and a slice of Gouda washed down with a Belgian beer perhaps?

Hi Christy, I just found a nice surprise on YouTube, I saw and heard you sing a cappella “Palestine” at the national manifestation in Dublin. It was, as we say, a goosebumps-moment. This is one of the reasons why we love you so much, you use your talent and speak for those who cannot. Thank you Christy.
Why do beautiful things only happen in Ireland? I think I have to move, maybe really after we know the results of the elections of June 9. Pray for us, please.
Christy, following Daves post ref’ Sandy Denny, an interesting fact (and a good pub music question) she is the only guest vocalist to ever appear on a Led Zeppelin album, when she did backing vocals on The Battle of Evermore..I’ve said it before but I would have loved to have heard Planxty do a cover of that song.

Hello Christy,
Lots of talk over the years on here about the MSG in Manchester. I couldn’t remember it from my time there so I looked it up. Shame it’s not still there, it was right next to Victoria Station. Perfect for trains from Halifax and wanders down Deansgate to Forsyth’s and Waterstones.
